Just remember if someone asks for your permit when you're shooting, make sure they have actual dnr credentials. ;)

Dan is the only one I would not ask for ID, hint he an extra for Duck Dynasty.

What is this place like to shoot at? How long is the range? What type of targets can one use?

100 yards, target stands provided - supply your own targets though. The stands have a orange mesh impact zone, so keep your targets within that zone.

$20 for a yearly pass, $5 for a day pass (can be obtained at the entrance to the firing line).

Firing line is not covered, so dress accordingly.

During the week, 98% of the time is uneventful. Weekends can get crowded.

Bring clothes pins! Leave any extras attached to targets. Clothes pins are cheap and it's just being nice to fellow shooters.
