  • I am look into doing Another .223/.300 blackout build. What are good barrels to use? I got a aero precision email and they have good specials on barrels so I am trying to get a bead on what's good so I can start building.

Appreciate any/all input. Might do either a rifle or pistol configuration.

Very happy with my AR Stoner 300 barrel.

Regardless of what you hear, DPMS offers fine 223/556 barrels too.

Good prices and good quality on both.

There's lots of GOOD barrels, there's GREAT barrels too.

The better question is - what's your budget, and your expectations?

ill have a 8.5 300aac rainer finished soon, I have a noveskee 18" 5.56, a BCM lightweight 14.5 5.56 and a few 16" 5.56 PSA. I like them all. It really depends what do you want to do with the rifle and how much do you want to spend.

My 18" build I wanted as acurate as I could afford so I spent my money in the barrel, BCG, and trigger.

My 14.5 I wanted as light weight as I could make it so I spent my money accordingly to that.

my PSA rifles are just your typical carbine and all shoot just fine 0-200 yards.

It might be a good idea to decide on the budget, cartridge, profile, and approx. barrel length before looking for a maker...

Just to be numerical semantic , a .223/300 is a totally different ctg , and one not AR compatable.

    The .300 Whisper/ .300 BO / .221-300 are closely related , AR compatable ctgs.

I showed him a 223 vs 300BLK on Saturday and he laid a live chicken. Apparently I'm a bad influence, because he is considering a 300BLK build. :D
