Aware me.. Saiga is Russian, but VEPR is Ukranian, right? I'm just spitballing, but hoping that VEPR is left alone, but I don't know as much as some of you guys do about the companies or where they come from. I really wanted a Saiga or VEPR 12, but I can't fork out money right now so crossing my fingers that the VEPR's are going to be okay since they are Ukranian.

    Molot is affected. No VEPRs.

I wouldnt worry to much about Mosins, plenty of other channels they can flow. Might pay $20 to $40 extra per head.

But that is bad news for Saiga's, Id buy parts while you can.

Shame we cant stock up in this particular communist state.

How does this affect ammo such as 7.62x39 and 7.62x54.

MOLOT was forced out of business by Izhmash a few years ago in what was essentially a hostile takeover, but subsequently re-opened. As of early this year, the Kalashnikov Concern was formed as an umbrella company to manage both companies... so they would be affected by this sanction. The MOLOT guns we receive are indeed made in Russia, but there is a Ukrainian VEPR assault rifle. It's unclear to me if MOLOT can leave the Concern, or if they are owned by it.

This is going to really hurt the Russian arms industry, well over half of their profits come from US sales. MOLOT has a huge incentive to break ties with the Concern (if that's legally possible) and keep that revenue stream intact.

Are you sure? I can't find a reference to "Vyatskie Polyany Machine-Building Plant" aka MOLOT anywhere. Or maybe I just missed it.

Unfortunately Rostec (state-owned corp) is a majority owner of Kalashnikov Concern and Molot is a subsidiary of Kalashnikov Concern.

    Holdings are towards the bottom:
    http://rostec.ru/en/about/company/165

    "THE COMPANY COMPRISES

    • JSC ‘NPO ‘IZHMASH’, Udmurt Republic
    • JSC ‘Izhevski mashzavod’, Udmurt Republic
    • ‘Koshkin Automatic line design bureau’ JSC, Moscow Region
    • ‘Klimov Special Ammunition Plant’, Moscow Region
    • JSC ‘NITI Progress’, Udmurt Republic
    • JSC ‘Molot’, Udmurt Republic
    • JSC ‘Izhevsky Mekhanichesky Zavod’, Udmurt Republic"
