Every year, a local farmer friend throws a End of Summer Party at his house.
He sets up a range behind his house and at noon he holds a rifle competition. Shooters get one shot at 100 yds and closest to center gets a ham. The catch is that you can't rest any part of the rifle or your arms on anything stationary. The only rest allowed is a 4" log swing hanging from the porch beam. It's supposed to simulate shooting from a combine.

Last year, I came in 2nd out of 21 shooters after loaning my rifle to another fellow. He won with my rifle.

This year I didn't loan it to anyone and won the shoot with 25 shooters. Another win for the old shaky guys. My hole is the one in the center.

    Rifle: Remington 700, 300 WinMag w/Simmons Atec 4-10X scope.
Ammo: Hand Loaded 180 Gr Nosler Ballistic Tip Spitzer, 80 Gr H-100

I didn't mention he had 8 bushels of crabs, shrimp, deer burgers, deer pit BBQ, more enough food to feed the 3rd infantry division and more deserts than anybody should be exposed to. And everything was homemade.

She's a nice piece of ass. Hog"s ass that is. Nine pounds plus a bonus of three slices of Hatfiel Classic. Please don't stare, she's a bit shy.

The covered range is the deck on the rear of the house.

Also had the pleasure of introducing shooting to three ladies who had never shot a gun. They shot both handguns and about a dozen rounds with a shotgun where all managed to kill a few clay birds. All three left smiling.

    Good shooting, Hoss!

That .300 Win Mag howitzer of yours is a beast!

If I had a spare $3K I'd take it off your hands.

I'm sure you'll enjoy that well earned ham this winter.

I sure liked mine last year. Thanks again for the loan!:)

    (P.S. That's me 3" out at 1 O'clock with my shot out .06.)

The beast has been meticulously cleaned, coated with the best English gun oil, wrapped in fine Egyptian linen and placed in an air tight, humidity controlled container. It will not see the light of day until,,,,, NEXT YEAR!
