The Traditional Muzzleloading Forum is the place to check.

He's talking about a Primitive Rifle Rendezvous.
Easterners tend to reenact the 18th Century frontier, with flintlock long rifles. Think Last of the Mohicans.
Out west they lean towards 19th Century Mountain Man shooting, with Hawken-type rifles. Think Jeremiah Johnson.

They do some pretty neat shooting with those flintlocks. One staple event which I've seen is to split the bullet on the blade of a tomahawk, so the two halves break two targets simultaneously.

Thanks. This is what I was looking for. I have always wanted to go to these events but working weekends did not allow for such trips. Hopefully my new schedule will allow me to make it to some of these events.
