This post has helped me as well. Your not the only one looking for a photographer... My wedding is Aug 1 2015, reception at Martins East.

Find a spot to shoot your wedding party outside of that little cove on the right when you walk in. The way it's shaped and the mirrors on the walls make it super cheesy and "prom-y" lol

In a van, down by the river.
And I just read a post elsewhere about a new-to-the-game photographer getting sued because his equipment bag with cameras and 95% of the images on memory card was stolen at the wedding site. He had no assistant to help, no security, no immediate download to offsite storage, etc. And the couple has no pictures. Nothing against the new photographer wanna-bees, but I'd go with a seasoned pro. They'll have great equipment, know how to use it, have great ideas, great people management to guide people into/out of the pix, and skills to make hard lighting and other problems work for you. Just my opinion... I own a few pieces of good equipment, but that doesn't remotely make me a good photographer anymore than owning a full-on sniper rifle would make me an operator. Just one more opinion. Good luck.

Double the reason to make sure your shooter has gear and backup gear along with insurance and... dun, dun, dun... INDEMNITY INSURANCE.

Just know that you get what you pay for. All of the things he named above come at a price.
