Last couple of times I have been there recently, the handgun lanes have been ok. The rifle and black powder lanes have had nasty waits. It is hunting season and folks are there to sight in.

In the two Saturday's I've strolled into CRESAP -~1pm- I had no trouble finding lanes. Both times I got 3 rifles lanes next to each other and tons of space on the pistol range.

    Afternoons are better than mornings.
Saturday is better than Sunday... usually...

Rifle lanes, as stated, will be the hardest seats to get.
I will be working on Sunday. If you see a "well fed" guy in his late 30's/early 40's stop and say, "Hi".

    See you at the range!

Was there today. I was the "formerly well-fed" fiftyish grey haired dude.
I think there was only a few revolvers today, I was one of them. The smaller (357) revolver. Had a great time! Will be back tommorow!

Went today with my wife. I was shooting my 1911 and my wife was shooting her new G19 and I shot my MN M44 some. It was the last thing we get to do together for a good while ( she went "overseas" today, non-military but still nerve-wracking).

Just wanted to thank ya'll for being there for all of us "pubs".

More like on the 40's side of things:innocent0 :D

For the record I have NOT hit the BIG 4-0 yet!!!
    I have 3 more month.

Don't let the grey hair fool you. That is a result of my sophistication and maturity. (And have 3 kids, 2 dogs, and a wife)

Shotgun ammo is easy. Get a sharp knife, a paper bag and a shotgun. Cut each shell in half. Collect the lead and give it away to a reloader. Take the powder outside and pour onto some concrete and light with long match. Take the back half of each shell into the basement when the wife and kids are gone. Single load each and pop the primer. Toss the garbage when you are done.

Well, it's shot shells I purchased from Memco in 1978. Someone said i maybe should update them with more recent ammo if used for self defense.
I have a Mossberg 500 pump from 1978 and I need to have a few 00 buckshot rounds and get rid of the bird and turkey shot (#2) as I will never use them again......and it was said I shouldn't rely on 35 year old ammo for self defense. :) The old Mossberg pump is not a slef defense firearm, really, I just happen to have one that I picked up as a teen long ago. It hasn't been shot is 33 years..

I would use a 500 to save my butt. If the gun has a 28" barrel, just get an 18" barrel.

The ammo should be safe to shoot. I do understand the hesitation in using ammo that old in a defensive situation, but find a place to shoot it.
