Here's the infamous "ballistic knife" or "Spetsnaz knife" outlawed basically everywhere in the 1980's and considered to be one of the deadliest and most dangerous knives ever made.
Today it's a holy grail for knife collectors and will cost a pretty penny if you can find one.
A seller from overseas has been listing them on ebay lately.

I think so, and people say it was originally designed for use by Soviet Commandos during the Cold War. I don't know how much truth there is to that.

I had a couple, when I was active duty. Inaccurate past about 3 feet. If I can find them, i will let you all know and part with them.

FYI These are probably not legal to buy or sell or even own in many states, at least not with the spring.
I think the ones on ebay don't come with the spring, but they are not hard to find.
I'm no lawyer and I really don't know very much about arbitrary knife laws.:)

I have two, they are not as deadly as advertised and can be defeated by thick clothing even when very sharp and in perfect working order.

That said, they are fun to launch into a plywood board.

I heard the 922R compliance dept is in charge of ballistic knife prosecutions. Just kidding.
