Red letter weekend for me! Took the Pastor of my church out for the first time on Saturday and my 10-yr-old out for the first time on Sunday. See my post in the AGC forum for more on that.

It came to light that the current color of the Rascal is not suited to the fashion-designers-eye of my child. Can anyone recommend a paint that can be applied at home that will stick to the little plastic stock and won't break the bank? I'll do whatever I need to follow mfg recommendations on surface prep. Not afraid of a little elbow grease...

The cheapest is probably Krylon Fusion.
I've had good results on plastic. Nice smooth finish. It will scratch, mostly on edges if it gets bumped against an abrasive surface. Other than that is sticks well.

Remove as many parts as you can beforehand
    Wipe well with denatured alcohol
I give it a final spray down with brake cleaner till it runs off like a waterfall
Paint several light coats, don't worry about complete coverage on the first coat
Let it hang for a week to ten days before reassembly

Do Not use the satin clear coat over the paint. The powder residue will embed in the clear coat and look dirty wherever you hold it and the cheek weld area.

Be careful with brake cleaner around any plastic parts.

    Rustoleum will also work.
