Thank you Andy et al at Engage!

I went in to see about a Silver Pigeon. I know it is not your forte, but you were very accommodating and willing to get me what I wanted, when I saw the SKSs.

I did some research, and what I have acquired from your shop is a IO Palm Bay import Arsenal 26 1963 Chinese Type 56 with all matching serial numbers including the stock (Which has a crescent moon on one side, and a triangle on the other (Small but there).

Your team helped free up the firing pin and clean the bolt.

I cleaned the cosmoline off of the rifle and the thing looks awesome. Out of all of my rifles, this one is my favorite.

Shot it at the AGC this weekend, and it was shooting high, but grouping nicely. Realized when I got home, that the leaf sight was on the wrong aperture between BSZ and 1. I will go back again this weekend to see if it corrects.

Apologies for the rant, but I am ecstatic about this purchase.

Your shop has come through with all stars, and I will be back again for sure.

    Thanks Again.

Just read that the rifle was probably in the hands of an Albanian.

A few more pics for your viewing pleasure...

My wife is letting me know that I am out of control.

That's a nice one. You'll enjoy shooting it.

Thanks for posting pics. They're a reminder to a few Hooligans that they "need" an SKS in their collections too... ;);)

    Do you have one?

I don't remember if you said you did or not while you were fondling mine back when we were all up there.

IF the rear sight is all the way down and it still shoots high, the front sight post is adjustable. It can be turned and this makes it go up/down.
If still shooting high, turn the front sight post up so it's higher.

My Chinese SKS has not had a hiccup in about 400 rounds put through it.
Its a great offhand shooter too.

    Thanks Melnic,
And thanks everyone for the kind words.

So far mine seems to be eating everything like a hog at a trough.

I will shoot again on Friday and report back. All of my other rifles have a a red dot or scope. This is my first real attempt at shooting with open sights, so it very well might be me (most likely). It groups really well at 25 yds, so I am assuming pie plate at 100.

    Thanks for the tip!

Just gonna put his out here, that's a nice collectable. Please don't refinish, refurbish, upgrade, or bubba that rifle. It's a very nice piece.

What do you mean Yellow Sled?

I have already chopped the barrel and the stock and bolted plastic on it to make it shoot better...

Just kidding. I have other rifles that serve their purpose. Just as this one does.

I believe that I am getting into the relic guns for their history and service.

I am now on the hunt for the USA counter of the SKS.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
