Just throwing this out there. I've been collecting cowboy guns for a bit, will pick up a few more. In the mean time, I'm looking at building another AR upper in one of the bigger calibers. Would a rifle buffer be sufficient in an A2 stock for one of the 45 or the 50 calibers in the platform? If I use a carbine lower, what weight should I use?

I use a carbine length buffer system on the .50Beo. The gas is a midlength system.

Wolff XP spring, and T2 buffer. It's actually oversprung somewhat, occasionally doesn't lock the bolt back on an empty mag. Being a range toy, I'm ok with that.
