I knew when I got the thing that it had a screw stripped out. But no big deal, it still shoots good and is mechanically sound. Last time I shot it, the tumbler screw finally gave up and the screw and hammer went flying. Found the hammer, gave up on the screw. The tumbler itself is fine, but I am in need of the one part I can't find. Tried Dixie, Track of the Wolf, VTI, no luck. Does anyone know if I can use a screw from a different model percussion gun by them or do I need one special to this gun?

    As always, thanks for reading.

EDIT: the parts diagram refers to it as a "hammer screw"

If you tell me what kinda screw it is I can see if we carry anything like that

That's the problem; I'm totally in the dark here. No way to measure threads, but here's a couple pictures if that helps. The slot is so narrow that I need a knife blade to turn it. Thanks for checking!

Try Lodgewood and S&S. Also, you may want to take a trek up to Winchester during the North-South Skirmish Association (NSSA) national shoots. I think there are a few vendors/smiths/parts people who show up for them. Even if they don't have the part you need, I bet they could tell you where to get it.

I was going through some BP stuff and figured I should post the solution here in case anyone has the same problem. Pedersoli wasn't a whole lot of help since they changed screw sizes since 1972 so I had to improvise. Found a perfect match at the hardware store. Metric machine thread screw 3x6mm, .50 pitch. (at least that's what was what it said on the box) $1.35 later, I have a new set of screws and washers, plus spares. Better yet, a perfectly functioning shotgun. :D Not exactly factory looking, but not too bad, if I may say so myself.
