It seems that most everyone on this forum understands that the banning of any type of firearm will not have any impact on violence. The fact is, the so-called assault weapon ban in Maryland was created after a perception was created by the media that assault weapons are being used to "harm our children."

I've attached a report to this post that was published in 2002. The report was prepared by the United States Secret Service. The report does provide some suggestions for preventing or preparing to respond to a school shooting. Nothing in the report even remotely suggests the banning of any type of firearm. The report identifies 37 incidents of targeted school violence involving 41 attackers that occurred in the United States from 1974, through June 2000.

The most important fact; "Handguns were used in 61 percent of the incidents.

Another relevant fact: "Over half of the attackers demonstrated some interest in violence, through movies, video games, books, and other media 59 percent."

You want us to use our common sense? This is common sense. You can NOT prevent violence by banning rifles. The attackers will successfully use any other means available to carry out the attack. Maybe you should instead ban video games. Read the report for yourself.

Banning "assault" rifles to prevent school shootings is like banning blue condoms to prevent rapes.

Banning guns to prevent violence is like banning forks to prevent obesity. People will just use spoons. Or sporks. Or...

Welcome aboard sir and thank you for your service! I watched a video earlier with Frosh arguing with Dan Bongino about SB281 and one thing is very apparent. People that want to ban guns are immune to logic and facts. Frosh especially so. Bongino made excellent points and Frosh either didn't believe him, or he just didn't give a crap. It was so sad and disgusting to watch. I have a bad feeling MD is doomed and beyond repair.

Well, the good thing about posting that where he did, is that section is viewable by guests and others who may have stumbled upon it by accident. Maybe even a couple libs can be turned that way as well.

    Well, maybe not...:innocent0

This and many more debates in our country have no use for reason or rational thought. Those who cling to such things have already lost the arguement.

    IMHO
