My first C&R purchase arrived yesterday right before I had to leave for work. It is a excellent Star Model B from J&G Sales. As you can see from the attached photos The grips are in excellent shape, the finish is great, the bore is clean and the rifling strong. The date code puts mfg in 1945.
Caught the Star bug a little while ago, myself.
And the first one was a J&G offering as well. They really are fun to shoot.
I think I might have just enough room in the safe to fit another one from them.
* I don't have an issue. I can stop buying them any time I want to*
Nice... I'm a big fan of the Star B's. If you take it to the range and it has issues (FTE, Double feed, ect).... don't get frustrated. Just try some steel cased ammo. Some of them eat steel cased fine but puke on brass all day long. Note... that is just some, not all of them.
That Star is in very nice shape!
Looks like original blue, too.
Note the replacement grips are cut for the lanyard ring, but the frame is not drilled and tapped for it.

Yes the blue is in great shape, overall I am ecstatic about the condition of the gun. I want to break it down, clean it up, and get some rounds through it.
I bet it's in excellent mechanical condition too. Just has the look...
BTW - don't dry fire it (without a snap cap anyway) as the firing pin will most assuredly break.
Headed over to On Target yesterday just to put some rounds through it. I was shooting Remington 115 GR MC and of the 50 that I put downrange I only had 1 failure to chamber. Everything about the gun was smooth and tight.
