I'm new to Garand lore, is pre-Pearl Harbor something? Or just a historical statement?

Just a historical statement. Some people like the idea of having an M1 that predates American involvement in WWII, just like how some people like having a wartime M1 over a postwar one. It doesn't guarantee that it saw action, but it's at least a possibility.
