Seems to me that if restoring voting rights to felons is deemed reasonable and legal in Maryland, a restoration of other Constitutionally protected rights is in order.
Why should a person who has paid his debt to Society be denied the right to self-defense? I think all the MD Senators who supported the voting rights for felons ought to be lobbied to restore firearms rights as well. How can they possibly deny doing so, if the legal system has sanctioned the return of these people to Society? After all, if they were deemed a threat, they wouldn't be let out onto the streets.
It's only common sense.
