Seems to me that if restoring voting rights to felons is deemed reasonable and legal in Maryland, a restoration of other Constitutionally protected rights is in order.

Why should a person who has paid his debt to Society be denied the right to self-defense? I think all the MD Senators who supported the voting rights for felons ought to be lobbied to restore firearms rights as well. How can they possibly deny doing so, if the legal system has sanctioned the return of these people to Society? After all, if they were deemed a threat, they wouldn't be let out onto the streets.

    It's only common sense.

Before getting all gung-ho to support felons at every turn, why should people with no record whatsoever be wholesale denied CCW permits. CCW permits that provide a solid means of defense against all the revolving-door felons on our streets. To hell with felons. Support the rights of the law-abiding people, because God knows the state of Maryland sure doesn't.
