    I could use some help ID'ing the roll marks on my AR15 bbl. it reads

    "L 5.56 NATO 1/9"

    L= ?
    5.56 NATO = Caliber
    1/9= Twist

    What the hell is the "L" I can't figure it out? Larue?? do they make bbls?

    thanks!!

    After googling, I've found a couple forum posts saying L is for LMT. Though, I wouldn't take that as gospel....

    LMT doesn't make 1:9 and their barrels are also marked MP 5.56 CB

    ETA....evidently they did make 1/9 barrels at one point. Your barrel markings are consistent with the LMT.
