Yeah, the .44 was fun. I enjoyed shooting it. Here in Eastern NC, reloading supplies are few and far between and when you can find them, they are expensive. Factory ammo is expensive.

Yesterday, I took the course and qualified for a concealed handgun permit. I don't want to carry my 1911 all the time and the .44 was just too big to carry. I know I carried it once in a while, but I'm no fool and the novelty wore off very quickly.

A buddy of mine down here had a Ruger LCR .38 Spl+P up for sale, so we swapped guns. I got the .44 in a trade, so trading it wasn't that big of a deal. I can use a .38 LCR much more than I can use a .44 Magnum.

When you are a gun guy on a budget, you heed to the words of the Rolling Stones. You can't always get what you want, but sometimes, you get what you need.
    Well, here are the pics.

In a perfect world, I would have kept the .44 and bought an LCR. Being on a budget means I have to trade...

Nah, don't worry...I was just busting your chops a little. You needed another concealed carry weapon and the 44 is most definitely NOT a CCW.

I hope you never have to use that Ruger, but I'm glad you have it just in case.

    Good Luck!

Yep. I hope it only gets range time.

I was thinking it would be ironic if you went full circle and ended up with a Sccy again.

Those things are popular as hell down here. I still don't see why. Since we have no roster like MD, the market is flooded with guns that make the SCCY look like a Browning Hi Power.

Hopefully not as a CCW. But it's what you're comfortable with that counts.

Since you're sort of a newcomer around here, you might not remember that Joe's first pistol was a SCCY, and he posted about what a horrible POS it was. It horrified him so much that his collars all popped and flags sprang from his head.
