From top to bottom...dominator, compact, trp.
Just brought my new Rock Island 1911 10mm home today. took a few shots just to try out my chronograph. looks like average speed for some federal 180 grain hollow points ( older 50rd boxes not the new stuff) was 998fps. I have some gold dots I loaded up with 8.3 grains of blue dot to try next after I run the 2 boxes of the factory federal I have. the one thing i noticed was that I will need a metal detector to find my brass, it throws them a long ways I gave up looking for them.
Do you see the marking on the end of the barrel? Is that normal? I am very new to owning handguns, this is my first handgun. the mark isn't just in the bluing you can feel it when you run your finger over it.
Thanks
Since it's new send it back for a warranty work. I heard that RIA is very very responsive with a quick turn around time to boot
First off, NICE find - 10mm is one of my all time favorite caliber
As for the ejecting spent casing, get a 20lb recoil spring and a flat bottom firing pin stop - these quick mods should cure that. But before you do this the barrel/slide lockup should be addressed
From the pics, your RIA appears to have a bull barrel (bushingless).
The slide may have some burring.
- - Field strip the 1911 and remove the barrel from the slide. -
- - Check the inner portions of the slide above the recoil guide rod or the plug.
- - - - The barrel lockup area should be smooth to the touch with no burrs.

^ this. And they often do extra work while they have it…just contact Arnel at RIA in Pahrump.
