This court has been 2nd Amendment friendly. They ruled that 2A is an individual right, which has been a liberal sticking point for decades. They ruled against DC's gun ban, and Chicago's as well. I see this court backing it up.
As to whether or not any reciprocity laws will apply, I think so...
Awesome. So who's going to be the test case to see how the state handles it? I can't afford bail, and have others who depend on me, so it's not going to be me
I have a Glock 36 in .45 acp. It's a subcompact, with a single stack magazine, so it's thinner in your hand. It doesn't have a large capacity, only 6+1, but I carry an extra mag. or 2, and honestly, living in Maryland, I don't go out of state enough to carry that much, so I really don't expect...
Got mine at 9 am this morning. Took them long enough. I was starting to think it was going to be as long as it takes to be "Not Disapproved" to buy a handgun.
I understand why they discourage the use of the word. And in most of their classes I agree with it. But I think in Personal Protection in the Home and Outside the Home it should be allowed. The fact is, the gun is being used as a weapon in those classes. You're not target shooting or hunting...
Ben is great. He's to the point, is a stickler for time management, as it should be, and DO NOT SAY the W word! Ever. He WILL catch it! lol I never use it anyway, so I was fine, but a few others in my class are filing for bankruptcy. lol
The BIT class is more about time management and...
Wish I knew you were going to do this. I signed up several weeks ago at the Mayberry Game Protective Association, and took the pre-qualifacation class yesterday in Westminster. I go back Sept. 5 & 6 for the BIT and on the 8th for the Basic Pistol class. 45 minute drive to your place is a lot...
I'm with you. I, too, have been considering joining a club out there, but don't know enough about the range or the clubs. I've inquired and received some information from a few of the clubs, but not really sure how the whole thing works.
I currently shoot at the Izaak Walton League in Damascus...
Excellent post, thank you. I've been considering getting into HAM for a while now, but haven't really known what to buy, and in what order. I've been over at HAM radio outlet and see a ton of stuff, but not sure what to buy, and I'm also on a budget since I have so many guns to purchase in such...
It's been nearly 10 years now. I never should have let it lapse, but money was tight, and I wasn't teaching at the time, so ....
I inquired about it a couple of years ago, but was told I would have to retake it.
If you're making a list, add me to it. I'd like to get started with at least 1...
I bought 2 lower receivers and built one already. I am definitely learning how it goes together, and how it works. Very cool. I bought mine for the main reason of being able to afford and obtain before Oct. 1, but since I started it this way, I am glad I did.
Gonna build a standard battle...
Unfortunately, I let my credentials lapse several years ago. I used to teach as part of a staff at Izaak Walton, B-CC. I miss teaching, and would love to get back into it again. What does it cost these days to get certified? I may go for it again.
Picnics happen in parks. Shooting happens at shooting ranges. Never the twain shall meet, IMHO. They should have their picnic away from the range so as not to infringe on those who would like to shoot. They can always come back to the range.
Good choice on the Dillon. I have 2 550b's. Had one for 20 years, bought it used, and it's still going strong. But another newer one, also bought it used, and have had it for 10 years.
There have been some great tips and advice already, so I won't offer any, but one tip that may not have been...
I have also been considering a move. I've lived in MD my entire life, but now am ready to cut my losses and move out. I also have a lot of emotional baggage to leave behind. I live in the house I was raised in, and take care of my mother, who is blind. I have many friends here whom I will most...
