      Made some 300 subs

I've loaded lots of subs with Lil'gun. 9gr won't cycle my pistol, but 10 will. I normally run 10.5-11gr for these (seems to be sweet spot). Mine are so consistent I can put a 5 gal bucket on the ground to catch every single case. These won't be accurate much beyond 50yds, but they are very...

      300 blackout sub recipes......anyone?

I have an 8.5" barrel, 1:8 twist. I will typically run a 230gr cast bullet, powdercoated and sized to .309. I load around 10.5gr A1680 seated to 2.26" (mag length, basically) and it cycles my pistol fine unsuppressed, holds bolt open on empty mag. Don't typically shoot this more than...

      300 blk OAL

I've loaded tons of 300 BO and Lee dies have always been fine for me, although I do have a set of RCBS carbide dies as well. As for OAL, seat to the cannelure as was stated. For feeding purposes I always try to seat as long as possible (also to eliminate some overpressure as I have a pistol...

      I'd apply, but I hate ponies :D

      223 help

I've had good luck with RCBS Carbide dies for the calibers I load alot of.

      Ran some 8x56R test reloads

      Yeah, probably what I'll do.

      New Dillon

And suddenly (one of) the reasons that having a single stage press handy is a necessity shows itself. ;)

      Ran some 8x56R test reloads

Cool thread, I have one of these carbines. I have a couple boxes of the Nazi-marked ammo. Might have to add another set of dies to the collection.

      300 blackout factory ammo

I trimmed my initial batch, like everyone else, to 1.360" I mostly shoot subs, and I've noticed little to no growth of the brass, at least nothing that would require re-trimming. I'm usually in the area of 10.8 gr A1680 for my 230gr sub loads, keeps it right at around 1050 fps. Even my...

      Hogden CFE pistol powder

I've used several pounds of the CFE 223 in my AR. Seems to work well, load data and powder load is very close/similar to H335. As far as does it keep the barrel cleaner? I guess so, I typically just run a Boresnake though after each range trip and the rifling is shiny as ever. /shrug...

      spitzer vs boat tail 300blk

I have the 300 BO 230gr BT mold from Lee.....they work great powdercoated :)

      What am I doing wrong

I find that ammo feeds better in my ARs if it is seated as close to mag length (2.26") as possible. As long as you have cases trimmed to spec, this sets the bullet at the correct spot in the chamber assuming your headspacing is correct. But....I'm not a benchrest shooter. I'll say that my...

      What am I doing wrong

Is that Fail to Feed, or Fail to Fire? What were your loads? You said you were using IMR 4227, which is a decent powder for blackout supers. Trying to go light on 300 BO supers doesn't work very well in my experience with the round, the gun likes more gas. What type of gas system do you...

      What am I doing wrong

Brad answered your question? here already. The bullet seating stem contacts the ogive of the bullet, NOT the tip. Unless you have every single case trimmed EXACTLY the same, you will likely see slightly different COALs throughout your batch. It is normal and nothing to worry about...

Hiring entry level technicians - Heavy Travel

Would like to bump this post with another immediate opportunity to fill a technician postion. I have two technicians whose Sig O's are preggers and have thus been pressured to give their notice as the SOs don't like them traveling any more. With that in mind, I have one position filled and...

      Added Another Caliber

I enjoy loading for 300 BLK. It is a very well-rounded cartridge, everything from 110gr supers to 230gr subs are equally possible. I find them easy to load as well with little issues. Lately I've been casting lead bullets for them in different weights and then powder-coating them, GCs on...

Hiring entry level technicians - Heavy Travel

Not obtrusive at all. 1. All company travel is in either company provided trucks or if we fly somewhere to work, a rental car paid for by the company. 2. It is company policy to never require an employee use their own vehicle for work, and for insurance purposes we actually actively...

Hiring entry level technicians - Heavy Travel

Had a few nibbles, no bites. Bumping this, we will need 2 people come August 15th. This is a great opportunity if you have a son that needs a good career or know anyone that is looking for a good place to grow.
