Good morning crew.
My son took his hunter safety training online last year. He completed the "classroom" part, but needs to complete the field training.
I don't recall from when I did my hunter safety, but is there a specific caliber that is used/required for the field day?
Thanks!

I have a feeling I am going to get a bit flamed with this, but what do you wear when you are working on your firearms?
I sometimes just want to go into my man cave and work on my guns for a while in the evenings. If I still have my work clothes on or something on that I don't want to get...
I have this old pistol that I am having the hardest time identifying. I can't find anything on the web, so here I am at one of the best places!!!
It's marked as "Sharpe London" on the left side, rifled ~4.25in barrel with approximately .38 cal rifled bore, total length of ~8.75in.
It has a...
Ok, if MD is going to recognize and offer reciprocity for same-sex marriages and other civil unions as licensed and permitted in other states, what basis do they have for denying reciprocity for concealed carry permits from other states?
Am I seeing this all wrong?
BLUF: Cold, Damn Cold!!!
Today, I tried a new way of hunting. Well, maybe not new, but new to me. A buddy of mine called and asked if I wanted to go Body Booting on the Susquehanna Flats. I told him I was game and would be there in 30 minutes. Body booting is where you wear a dry-suit or...
We were working on cleaning out a friend's grandfather's house a few months back. My buddy's dad told me that if I found any ammo, I could keep it as nobody in their family shoots anymore. He also mentioned that if I found any guns, we could talk about what to do with them.
After cleaning...
I have had absolutely no luck this year. Last year I was able to hunt on private lands, but that opportunity did not present itself this year...so it was off to public lands.
I have spent much of this year in Elk Neck State Forest in Cecil CO. It's plenty beautiful and I know there are...
Now that we're getting up to regular firearms season for deer, I am looking for good deer processors in the Harford/Cecil County area.
Any recommendations?
My wife didn't really like me doing it in the garage last year. I still haven't ruled that out though.
I was at DINFOS on Ft. Meade today and saw an MD Shooters sticker in the back window of a member's car. I don't know the member, and would like to figure out who you are.
Drop me a line!
Mike
I have recently come across (given, etc.) some old stashes of 12ga. ammunition. My question is, what should I do with it? It appears to be in good shape, but appearances can be deceiving.
I sent off my MD Collector's form late last week. Today, the wife calls and said it came back in the mail with the yellow label:
I sent it to:
I'm remailing it tomorrow!!! I don't trust my Post Office...
I want to build a custom 10/22 and don't see much good in buying a whole rifle from Wal-Mart if I'm just going to take it apart as soon as I get home and dump some of the pieces.
Any recommendations on where I can get a decent price on a 10/22 action/trigger group?
Thanks,
m
I am no legal expert, by any means, but I remember my Government classes in HS. They always said that legal statues go, Federal/State/Local. So, even though MD is a "May Issue" state, can a local jurisdiction within MD be a "Shall Issue" jurisdiction?
For instance, can my town, which is...
I saw this video on CNN.com this morning:

It seems that DC had a guy buy back this weekend. It always breaks my heart to see what people turn in. I know handguns are illegal in the city, currenty...
Can anyone shed some light on the use and exercising the permissions granted under Crop Damage Permits for deer?
I have a friend who is a farmer and acquired a series of permits, but I have yet to read the language of the permits and I wanted to know a little before I went up there and...
Ok, I am having trouble finding the information on the MD DNR website regarding rifle hunting Whitetail.
What/Where can you use a rifle to hunt Whitetail in Maryland?
Is it restricted to Region A only (Garrett & Allegheny Co's)?
Can someone make it clear and simple for me?
Thanks,
mikey
A couple of buddies and I went to Elk Neck state park yesterday to sight in rifles, shoot some targets and shoot some clay pigeons.
IT WAS FUN!!! I don't get out too often so I really enjoyed this! :party29:
I took my new 12 ga. Mossberg and my .22 Winchester. They are both a lot of...
My grandfather does not use his guns any more, so he split them up between my cousin and I. Aside from the A.H. Fox that he gave me (love it!!!) (http://www.mdshooters.com/showthread.php?t=2769), I also got these two:
Winchester Model 77 .22L Rifle w/ 8 round magazine:
and this Winchester...
Well, I'm going deer hunting for the first time this year (about time...) so I went out and bought myself a shotgun.
My buddy recommended something functional but inexpensive. I found this Mossberg Maverick Model 88 to fit that bill. It has a composite stock and forearm and is intended for...
Well, like most of my guns, I inherited this one from my grandfather.
It's an A.H. Fox Gun Co. Sterlingworth Break Action 12 ga.
From what I can discern from the serial number, it was made around 1915.
It's well used and the stock is a bit loose, but I can't wait to put it through...
