Can't remember the fellows name exactly, but I've seen a number of messages from members here about a local gunsmith who is good with the Garand...Charley somebody? Can someone help me out? By the way, the problem involves the plug screw holding the gas cylinder in place. Try as I might, I...

Transfer of Long Guns in Maryland

Am I correct in understanding that transfer of non-regulated long guns between two Maryland residents, both possessing current FFL 03 licences is permissable?

      Selling hi cap magazines

From a Wikipedia article on Maryland gun laws: "As of October 1, 2013, detachable magazines for semi-automatic handguns and semi-automatic centerfire rifles which are capable of holding more than 10 rounds may not be purchased, manufactured or sold, though they may be possessed (but not...

      SKS Stripper Clips

What's a good source for reliable, well-made 10 round SKS stripper clips? Am asking here since it appears that some of what is offered on line is not of the best quality. Just want about 10 or so. I've got a couple of SKS rifles that I've never fired. Any Industry Partners come to mind?

      Lyman 310 tool handle (small)

Would anyone have one of these old tools that they'd be willing to part with? I happen to have a NIB set of dies (4) for .45 ACP that are sitting around without a handle and thought I'd like to at least make a complete set. Yes, I know the handles are available at a number of locations -...

      P 64 sources

In the market for a P 64. Who's got the nicer one, AIM or SOG? Any other sources I ought to check out? I'm looking for best condition, not necessarily the lowest price. I did check out the sales page on this site and noted what's available. Any and all comments/opinions will be appreciated.

SKS Type 56 date of manufacture

Just picked up a Type 56 with serial number F6370. Made in Factory 26 (Jianshe Arsenal). Is this what is referred to as a "Sino-Soviet"? From what I've read (pretty sketchy info) this was made in 1956. Right/wrong? Other posts from my search seemed to indicate that dating the Chinese SKS is...

      Origin of "repop"

Where in the world does this term come from? It seems to be used when referring to a reproduction firearm. I've also seen "repo" used for the same purpose. Is there any rhyme or reason for using these abbreviations that I am missing? I am now going to take my medications...

      Gunsmith familiar w/ Sauer 38H

Am looking for a gunsmith who is familiar with this pistol, as mine needs some repair work done. I would like to find a local expert instead of going through the hassle of sending it off to someone out of state. Any suggestions? I'm in the Frederick area, but am not averse to a bit of driving.

I have a RRA LAR15 A4 rifle. It's got a 20 in heavy barrel and comes with a flash suppressor. If if take off the suppressor and replace it with a thread protector, have I removed this firearm from the dreaded "Copycat Weapon" category under the proposed legislation? Or do I have to make a...

      Regulated Fireams

This isn't exactly on topic, but some of the discussion has come close. My question centers on just what makes an AR-15 type rifle a NON-regulated firearm under the current Maryland law. When I look at the law, I find a laundry list of firearms that are considered to be "regulated" (in...

Intrastate sales of non-regulated firearms, i.e., Rifles.

Can't seem to find the answer to my question in my copy of the Maryland code. Specifically, is it legal for a Maryland resident to sell a sporting rifle to another Maryland resident without going through a FFL dealer or filing any forms with the State Police? (I'm talking about a regular...
