Are these places where you fish actual "State Parks" or just other parkland, WMA, county park, etc? Maybe I'm wrong but I read the MD restriction as one on MD State Parks and State Forests, very specific places with a specific designation. Not every park in the state is a "State Park".
Bought a Wesson 1911 Kodiak last month. Have fired less than 20 rounds and saw wear marks on the exposed portion of the barrel. Called the factory, they said that was normal wear.
"This is normal for these pistols, the finish begins to wear where the slide moves around the barrel".
I'd be...
I've shot a lot of geese using my 10 ga BPS over the years. Back in the lead load days the 10 offered a nice advantage over the 3 inch 12 (prior to the 3.5 12 ga) with the 2 1/4 Oz, 4.5 dram-eq load of lead BB shot. Nothing was even close on geese or turkey (illegal today). Later, the 10 ga 1...
Monday is range day. Hopefully not too crowded. 4 different brands, all 50 Gr. I suspect each brand will group nicely enough, only in a different location. TBD.
The three western counties of Maryland offer a 1 week turkey season in the fall. It's the only season where shotgun, rifles and handgus are legal. It's a completely different style of turkey hunting than spring gobbler with a shotgun. Yes a .22 works at short ranges. I took one with a .22 Colt...
I did purchse a few boxes of the Hornady from Midway last week. They'll be on the menu this weekend as well.
I felt the factory loads of .223 were too heavy for turkey at ranges under 75 yards. Lots of meat lost. I really should be using a .22 Hornet but I did need something for coyotees as...
I've finally accumulated a good amout of different brands of ammo and I plan to go back to the range this weekend. My first goal is has been suggested will be to try and see how each brand groups with multiple shots regardless of zero point. The gun is in a stable turret so I don't believe...
That's my plan now. Remington.com has the ammo but a problem shipping to my address. No one else on-line has it in stock that I can find. I'll try and fix the address issue next week.
Not sure what you see wrong about the date. 9/30/23
Thanks everyone.
Took my new Anschutz bolt action .222 turkey rifle to the range for zeroing yesterday. After zeroing at 100 yards with standard Remington 50 Gr. PSP, I fired multiple set of targets from a turret at 100 yards with similar results. Three Remingtons, a single round of PPU SP 50 Gr and then a round...
12 days so far for me for a permit exempt application. Still Pending. When I called they claimed they were "inundated" and it could take up to 30 days.
That's the same grip. I just don't have that nice emblem at the top. It hurts my arthritic thump joint holding that follower down for the last few rounds.
Interesting in that my mother always told me she simply walked into a Dart drug store in downtown Washington DC, purchased that gun and...
Most times I just use it to repel cyotoyes from my favorite Western Maryland turkey hole but I did take a fall turkey with it in 2019.
Loading it is painful so I may have to give the SpeedBeez a try. Thanks.
I've concluded the guys on here are correct and there is no need to register the gun in my situation since everyone involved is/was a Maryland resident from long ago, a close relative and the gun was gifted to me 45 years ago. Voluntary registration means just that, Voluntary.
Your situation is...
I'm not one to argue but I have been unable to verify that anywhere on-line. The person on the phone at the licensing division said I'm Iegally obligated to register it and I would need to upload a death certificate for both parents and an affidavit from the executor of their estate to prove it...
Hello everyone, first time posting here
My mother purchased a 1st series Colt Woodsman .22 for my father in the 1940's. My father gave it to me as a gift when I joined the Navy in 1977 and I have owned it ever since (still in original box). I have read conflicting information as to if...
