So, I've bought a number of paper cartridges formers from Steve at Forth Armoury in the past. Love his YT videos and products.
This past weekend I bought an 1842 Springfield smoothbore at the N-SSA Nationals so I can start shooting it in competition. In anticipation of that purchase I ordered...
So, I'm heading over to Winchester tomorrow for the N-SSA Recruitment Skirmish. Will probably take the plunge and join as an individual for up to 1 year before joining a team.
Anyone else on the forum going?
A longstanding member of a Muzzleloader Gun Forum reported a disturbing experience today. He placed a typical order of black powder and caps from Graf & Sons a couple of weeks back. Many of us here do it regularly. Great shop. LONG HISTORY. Stand up folks. So Grafs shipped his order FedEx...
Pretty excited to be unboxing this Kibler 58 Colonial Rifle kit. Will be my first assembly. Me thinks this cherry stock is going to be gorgeous. :party29:
Just got this today. Cast both original Christmas Tree style and Richmond 54cal bullets this morning, then test fired this afternoon with 40-50 grains 3FG Schutzen. Really nice bore with strong rifling and only minor pitting. Shot well. Trigger is too heavy, needs some adjustment, but the breech...
Pretty psyched to have scored this bicentennial year Ruger OA, in the original box and unfired. Looks and feels like an incredible gun. Looking forward to shooting it. Have molds for RB and conicals for it. Any wisdom on loads is appreciated.:party29:
Well, I've gone down this rabbit hole. It takes some practice, but I've gotta say I'm having fun. Will be taking these to the range to shoot tomorrow. :party29:
Just an FYI, Graf's has Swiss BP back in stock if you're looking for any. Their shipping and Hazmat fees are reasonable for a decent order. It's been a while since I've been able to find Swiss as far as BP goes, much less fouling than the German powder IMO.
Anyone have experience and opinion on the Euroarms Enfield 1853 or 1858 Civil War reproduction guns that were made several years ago? I've got a line on one I'm thinking about buying. Appreciate it.
My wife and I have a few days to take a little road trip. I'd like to combine some civil war sites and hopefully check out a couple of shops that sell black powder guns and supplies. Any good ones I should know about? Thanks!
FYI. Natchez has a sale on CCi standard velocity for $3.59 a box of 50 (0.07/rd) right now as well as a 10% discount code for orders until Monday. I ordered a large batch and the discount code pretty much covered the shipping and tax costs. For comparison, it's currently $4.99 a box of 50 at...
Just thought I'd check with folks here before I seek out a gunsmith. I have a Browning Mountain Rifle, caplock, single set trigger. This thing is near new condition, hardly ever shot before I bought it a few months back. I was out last week and put ~30 rounds through it just fine, then all of a...
Have a buddy from Idaho coming into town next week. He's never been to Gettysburg, so we're going to drive up there and do a battlefield tour. We obviously also want to hit some local gun shops while there or along the way. Recommendations? Thanks!
I'm going to be traveling down I81 from NY and then I83 to MD in a couple of days. Any particular gun shops I should hit in PA that are right along this corridor? I'm not looking to make any major detours from this route. So, Scranton, Harrisburg, York, and smaller towns along these highways...
Looking for a reliable and reasonable handyman in the Annapolis area for some house repairs/projects (exterior wood repairs, drywall work, etc.). They've just grown to the point where I can't handle them all myself. Nothing too time-critical, so flexible on schedule. Prefer to get someone with a...
