While I'm not a huge 1911 fan, I own a few. The 1911 played a part in winning a couple of wars, I think that speaks for itself. Many shooters get caught up with the next shinning gun. The 1911 is tried and true. One can with practice do very well with magazine changes. Chris
Just got this reply.
Dear Chris:
Thank you for your correspondence to Governor Hogan regarding House Bill 612 – Public Safety - Regulated Firearms - Colt AR-15 Sporter H-BAR Rifle, as your opinion is important to him.
While your thoughts on this issue have been conveyed to the...
That's a major part of the problem, they have no boundaries in their life nor do they care about life. I have heard a few say that they didn't think they would live past 20 so they do what they want. Yes the LEOs of BCPD try but the yoots don't have any fear of them. I have seen them taut the...
Sig specs on P220R states a 4.4" barrel so the 4.9" should be fine. I had a threaded one for my P-228 that was about 1/2" longer and it worked fine. Sold as I didn't want to go $800 for a suppressor w/stamp. Chris
Any Sig is a good Sig to own. I have 20+ year old guns as well as less then a year guns and they all shoot better than I do and they work. I mainly have the P series plus some of the 1911 series. Buy one and enjoy, Chris.
If yo are going to take the trip to Quarryville do it on a Saturday that PA Auction Center has their once a month firearms auction. All sorts of stuff are on the block. Nice folks to deal with. Chris
Back to the question. I carry the weapon I'm most proficient with which happens to be my Sig P228. It's med size but I also carry two extra magazines so I adapt my clothing to the weapon not the other way. I could carry a mouser but why when I can wear an untuck shirt as you mentioned or a vest...
In the early 80's Sam had his Cop Shop in the basement of Shamrock Trading Co. on Baltimore St in the old National Sporting Goods building. We had a video store (LEO owned), Shamrock Trading Co (pawnshop), Shamrock Arms (gun store) and the Cop Shop all in one building. Great times, we all made...
True, Top Gun Supply had a kit for P228 awhile back now only P229. I'm not sure if they are interchangeable since I had ordered them separately and installed. Chris
The E2 grips (which fits P228 as well as P229, it's the hammer springs that are different) I installed plus grip tape as well as the new Xray sights (8/8). That barrel is no longer on the gun but it was a threaded German barrel, it now has it's stock barrel recrowned by Sig on one of it's trips...
I don't remember if I had posted my P-228. It's my carry gun and has been with me since 1996. About every 8K rounds it goes back to Sig for service. The gun has never let me down. Chris
Rising Sun Friends of NRA is one of the longest running dinners since 1994. Our dinner is in March every year at the Rising Sun Volunteer Fire House. We raise money for the NRA youth programs (Half of the money stays here in Maryland). But lately we have found that our committee has gotten older...
Any private property that has a sign at the front door "No Weapons" or "No Firearms" but in this state you don't see many of them. The bank I use for business has one on the front door I told the manager not a problem but I will be moving my accounts to a armed business customer friendly bank...
Could be looking at some of the 40cals I sold or traded. I found as many have that the recoil was very stout compared to 9mm. The 9's allow at least for me better shot placement lesser recoil. Chris
