      Low Light / Flashlight Course

That is fundamentally what Runnin' Dark does.

      Low Light / Flashlight Course

The most convenient spot to practice this kind of thing is at the Runnin' Dark shoots at AGC. Unfortunately, it's now the wrong time of the year to shoot with WL/NV since there's a limit of 9PM for shooting at AGC. I would be extremely careful about who you select for these low light courses...

      Double Load(checked that box)?

Yeah, but the problem is that trying to orient your powders around screwups in your process is fixing a symptom, not the root cause. I've used TG for maybe five years now in 9mm, and never had a double charge, because I don't load on presses that make it super-easy to double-charge if you get...

      Double Load(checked that box)?

I saw that picture and the FIRST THING I thought was "I bet this is yet another satisfied Dillon 550 user". I'm not saying this can't happen on a 650, but you have to work a lot harder at it between the auto-indexing and the powder measure failsafe. Blaming Titegroup is an excuse, IMHO. Glad...

      9mm case explosion with Gen 3 G34

This guy nailed it. People look for all sorts of explanations that blame OOB or double charges or whatever. What OP had happen was a brass failure, and the failure point was probably at the feed ramp area of the barrel. Most of my guns won't even fire with slightly high primers. The likelihood...

Springfield 1911 DS vs Walther PDP Match?

It's an option, but I personally think Para mags are a dead end at this point. The market has moved to STI mags for the most part. BUL used to be a great budget recommendation, but their guns have gone way up in price over the past few years. Quality has gone up, too, but they're not low...

Springfield 1911 DS vs Walther PDP Match?

Pretty sure that's a scam site.

Springfield 1911 DS vs Walther PDP Match?

Slide fit is over-rated, too. As long as it isn't causing problems, whatever, wobbly-ass slide isn't the end of the world. Too tight, on the other hand, has bit me once or twice.

Springfield 1911 DS vs Walther PDP Match?

The PDP isn't a 2011, so I'm not sure what you're talking about, OP. Personal opinion, buy a cheap Turkish 2011 and then swap out the externals with an Atlas/EGW ignition kit, maybe fit a new trigger, too. Slide fit won't be as good as a "nice" 2011, but it'll shoot.

      Going rate for Glock 17

The good thing about used and trade-in Glocks is that it's neither very difficult nor very expensive to replace all the internal parts if you discover you have issues. The likelihood that the previous owner shot out the barrel is about zero. It's like buying a used 10/22; ultimately, there's...

What did you do at your reloading bench today?

Loaded up a few hundred more last night, and a few hundred more this morning. Almost done with the Ginex primers. Probably will try to use up my SRMPs after this for PCC ammo. ETA: finished out the Ginex SPPs. Finally. Loaded about a hundred 45 Auto, then discovered I was out of bullets. Oops...

2024 MD Machine Gun Registration is open

Good reminder. I filed it and paid my moneys. :P Technically it's not supposed to be until May, but, honestly, if they're good with it, I'm good with it.

What did you do at your reloading bench today?

Spent about fifteen minutes this morning installing a Redding 9mm Competition Seating Die into my 9mm toolhead in my 650. Have to say, it seems like a pretty substantial upgrade over the Lee seating die I was previously using in terms of concentricity and ease of setting it up. Wouldn't mind a...

      Looking into a compact

I absolutely concur with Blaster that "how it feels in the hand" is a questionable metric. Things that are, I think, more quantitative: 1. Can I reach the trigger with my finger pad? (especially for smaller people) 2. Can I access the slide release with my strong hand thumb (righties) or trigger...

What did you do at your reloading bench today?

Loaded 400+ rounds of 9mm. Nominally enough to replenish my buffer, but the SASP season is about to kick off and my 13yro son wants to shoot centerfire more heavily this year, so I doubt it'll last long. Next project will be loading some more 45 Auto.

Tour of the Sarco, inc Showroom in Easton Pa

Sarco wouldn't sell handguns to Maryland period last time I checked. **** those guys.

Who thought this was a good idea?

Mostly worthless for competition with the optic and the compensator. USPSA and IDPA are irons-only. It might be usable for ICORE, but my gut feeling is that those guys would be running S&Ws due to the parts and tuning situation. I run the previously-shown R8 at outlaw matches and night vision...

Who thought this was a good idea?

If you want to tacticool a Python, you can just buy this for $250 and do it to your own. However, it'll never compare to the OG: the S&W R8. This example is chambered in 9mm.

      Receiver for a 10/22 build

Got it. In that case, there's no point whatsoever to that option, and you may as well just buy a Ruger stripped receiver from S&P Outfitters for a hundred bucks.

      Receiver for a 10/22 build

I don't think you can legally build 80%s in MD anymore? Or am I misremembering that? @KRC gave the right answer, though. Unless you need some sort of fancy feature like left-hand-side-charging, a second receiver lug, or the 11/22's removable top, a plain-jane Ruger 10/22 receiver is your best...
