The most convenient spot to practice this kind of thing is at the Runnin' Dark shoots at AGC. Unfortunately, it's now the wrong time of the year to shoot with WL/NV since there's a limit of 9PM for shooting at AGC. I would be extremely careful about who you select for these low light courses...- erwos

Slide fit is over-rated, too. As long as it isn't causing problems, whatever, wobbly-ass slide isn't the end of the world. Too tight, on the other hand, has bit me once or twice. -

The PDP isn't a 2011, so I'm not sure what you're talking about, OP. Personal opinion, buy a cheap Turkish 2011 and then swap out the externals with an Atlas/EGW ignition kit, maybe fit a new trigger, too. Slide fit won't be as good as a "nice" 2011, but it'll shoot. -

Loaded 400+ rounds of 9mm. Nominally enough to replenish my buffer, but the SASP season is about to kick off and my 13yro son wants to shoot centerfire more heavily this year, so I doubt it'll last long. Next project will be loading some more 45 Auto. -

Mostly worthless for competition with the optic and the compensator. USPSA and IDPA are irons-only. It might be usable for ICORE, but my gut feeling is that those guys would be running S&Ws due to the parts and tuning situation. I run the previously-shown R8 at outlaw matches and night vision... -

If you want to tacticool a Python, you can just buy this for $250 and do it to your own. However, it'll never compare to the OG: the S&W R8. This example is chambered in 9mm. -

I don't think you can legally build 80%s in MD anymore? Or am I misremembering that? @KRC gave the right answer, though. Unless you need some sort of fancy feature like left-hand-side-charging, a second receiver lug, or the 11/22's removable top, a plain-jane Ruger 10/22 receiver is your best...
