Starting my first AR build. Picked up an HBAR from Franklin Armory. Looks like there's some white gunk (?) around the inside of the barrel (receiver end). Any thoughts what that may be before I reach out to Franklin Armory? Should I just scrape it out and not worry about it?

I’m actually down in Miami on travel and watched on the local ABC station. It’s been coverage all day long from every reporter. Emotional? Absolutely, I get sick thinking about this if it were my kids. I can understand the mental anguish of those folks but it does not make for a productive...
I used a recent box of 100 Win superx in my new Ruger mark4. Out of 100, there was one where the crimp was messed and jammed in the barrel and another FTF (even after rotating the rim and trying again). Not overly impressed.
Forest Hill Walmart had plenty of CCI, goldenbullets, and auto match today. Maybe a few others. First time I saw that much there.
And prices seem to be falling too. Heard the guys behind the counter say the automatch dropped a few bucks. Was labeled as $17 something but they mentioned it...
That's no good. Good selection of stuff. They had 22lr now and then at not super crazy prices.
But I'm not surprised. I haven't been to too many, only when on travel out of state. They always seem dead and empty.
Higher than preferred but kinda average (higher than Academy but lower than Dicks?):
$22 Fed Automatch
$9 CCI Minimags
$10 Win superx and Golden Bullets
$35 for brick of Thunderbolts
Had a variety of other makes there too (Ely, CI, Aguila)
2000 rounds of M22 for 5.3 cpr. That felt good.
Bel Air had lots of Federal Automatxh, some remington GB and Ely.
Interesting that there was an actual sale on 22lr. Maybe Dicks is trying to show the world they have 22. But this is definitely a word of mouth thing. Wasn't adverised in...
Ugh.
Was at Dicks in Bel Air to pick up a few of the on sale ammo boxes and there was some Auto Match and Win M22. 'Great' I'm thinking. I'll take that last brick of M22. Until...
$70. Sting.
Settled for the box of 325 instead. For $22 (on sale no less). Still stings, but not all at...
As for Federal employees and contractors keeping the status quo, I have usually seen the opposite up at APG in Harford.
Lots of proud vets and citizens working there wanting to do a good job for the Soldier downrange. Plenty of political water cooler discussion been occurring but I haven't...
