We used lanyards on everything. If you drop something on the open ocean, its gone if not tied in. One night we were training VBSS off the coast of San Diego and the driver flipped a RIB. Because everything on the boat was tied in with a lanyard or carabiner, we didn't lose so much as a pocket...
When in the Navy it was on a thigh holster. We carried them in the Boat Teams. I wouldn't recommend it as a CCW gun. The 229 is my main cold weather carry gun.
Not in the part of the military I was in. We carried in condition 1 ALL the time once we headed out for a mission.
Agreed. Israel carries with an empty pipe for a civil safety reason. I personally don't see a good reason for it if you are properly trained but that's their way. One should be...
Dropping in to say hi. I've been super busy with restoring a boat and a couple dozen other excuses. Miss this place and the characters onboard. We're planning to move aboard sometime this year, sailing off to destinations with palm trees and umbrella drinks. I will be liquidating some of my...
Folks,
Been gone for a while. Glad to be posting again.
I'm currently making a wall mount for a Lee Enfield for my Pastor's birthday.
It's a Mk3 from around 1916 that he inherited from his father. (the only thing he got from the estate.)
I need someone who has the same or similar model to...

I've been woodworking for 30 + years. Clamp the boards together loosely then use clamping cauls to keep the boards aligned. Once the cauls are on then clamp from side to side. Give it about 45 minutes and scrape the squeezed out glue with a stiff paint scraper. The glue should be skinned over...
Fundamentals mostly. Top two targets are pulling generally low and both left and right. When you squeeze the trigger, don't use your whole hand. It looks like you could be milking a bit. Your predominant issue looks to be the fundamentals. BRASS= Breath, Relax, Aim, Slack, Squeeze.
I've...
Make your shelves from 3/4" Baltic birch ply (no voids). Make sure you seal the wood with poly. It will prevent any moisture in the wood from attacking your nice metal guns. Felt is available from Joanne Fabric in many colors. I use it for shadowboxes and glue it with rattle-can contact cement.
