Wasn't sure where to put this. I'm looking at an 1890's target rifle, single shot, falling block action, in 7.5X53.5. I've read where the guys with the 7.5 Rubin's can shorten the 7.5X55. If I have a single shot, couldn't I rebore to the 7.5X55? Might be a bear finding a reamer. Just thinking...
After 103 years my stocks are a little dirty. I think there is some nice figure underneath. Is there any safe way to clean the wood with out hurting the original finish? Don't want to refinish. I'd just as soon leave it the way it is than take a chance of hurting the finish, Joe.
