      Greek mauser

I know I stand to take heat in this thread. I currently have (2) 8mm mausers, both on large ring actions. This latest one is a FN receiver 1930 model greek mauser, which some of the crest can still be seen, but it is faint. The bolt, stock and floor plate and barrel are Turkish. The only...

      k98 to 9.3x62

The search function turned up very little: Anyone ever taken a k98 action and created a 9.3x62? I have a scrubbed action, and am interested in doing so. Midway/brownells don't show barrels, any ideas?

Junior Hunt day - can a minor legally hunt with my regulated in my presence

Here's a SB 281 litmus test for you: I have an under 18 son who wants to deer hunt on junior hunt day. If he is in my presence and is supervised by me as a legal permitted hunter, can he use my AR, since its recoil is negligible (with a mag loaded with 8 rounds or fewer, and honestly, I'm...

WASR's - imported as single stack models?

I was checking out a new gun store in the area, and overheard a clerk tell a customer the following: " All the WASR's that come to the US start out as single stack mag models, and the distributors convert them to accept the double stack mags". Now, I am not an AK platform guru, but this...

An educational opportunity: DNR "train a rookie day" at Cunningham Falls

Dear DNR police: Thank you for the recent opportunity to educate my children regarding constitutional issues of police stops at your park. As I provided educational information regarding Maryland's DNR laws to your FTO and officer in training (no badge, no weapons yet), I also took time out...

Norinco Hunter - opinions, and regulated?

I'm considering a Norinco hunter. Does anyone have experience with them? Would MSP consider it regulated because of "AK-47, any variant", or would it be considered exempt because of bulletin 96-1 which says that MAK-90's aren't regulated? I tried the search function, but wasn't able to find...

      Stevens 335 Disassembly - grease?

I have a Stevens 335, 1930's era, gun books show only 2000 made over a 10 year span. As I have the receiver apart and have found the trouble spot, I notice tons of 80+ year old assembly grease which has since totally dried up, mostly on parts such as hammer springs, and friction/wear surfaces...

Does anyone know what diameter the gas hole in the front sight block is supposed to be? I field stripped one I rescued from bubba, and it looks like bubba drilled the hole over sized.
