      AC not cooling

Same with us. Could get the blower running by manually starting it by hand (don't try that at home, though!) until we got a replacement run capacitor. $10 part at Grainger.

      AR15 stuck bolt?

I just had this happen with Wolf steel case ammo. Other people have said that the steel is "stickier" and could be an indication of needing more lubrication around the bolt and chamber area. Alternatively, lightweight BCGs or reduced power buffer springs could be keeping the bolt from having...

      SCOTUS watch

I fear that this will embolden the 4th circuit to uphold Maryland's AWB in Kolbe v. Hogan, knowing their ruling will go unchallenged.

      lower question

I like supporting local businesses too, but that is highway robbery.

      Appleseed MD 2016 Thread

The Marriotsville Appleseed this weekend was windy, rainy, cold, and overall a great time :) This was my second time attending. Compared to last year (where I think everyone was shooting .22lr), we had at least six people shooting .223/5.56. One guy made rifleman with his. I feel like doing it...

      Appleseed MD 2016 Thread

I would love to try an Appleseed with my 5.56 AR (even for just a half day...), but I'm worried about making the other shooters on the line uncomfortable with the noise and concussion, even after taking off the comp and replacing it with a birdcage. Thoughts?

      Vote to repeal rights

While the current limits are only on open carry, the article says the EO is also requesting legislative proposals for limitations on concealed carry within 30 days.

Help me identify this USGI 1911A1

The finish on that is nice! I can't help with ID'ing it, but it is a good looking piece.

      Obama on mass shooting today

Jesus. I'm pro-2A, but some of you sound like the liberals claiming that Bush Jr. was going to give himself a third term using terrorism as a cause for martial law. Sounds crazy, doesn't it? Obama is not going to executive-action any gun control policies. That is fear talking, it has no basis...

The Official C&R Bubbafication Porn Thread

I don't know if this quite counts as bubbafication, but this is the worst finish I've ever seen on a Star B: Look at the wear marks near the slide release. I can just feel the grit trying to slide it into place! Starting bid on gunbroker is $350. Good luck, guy!

      Winchester Model 88 - Action/Cleaning

That seems to be the general consensus online, I'll get a gunsmith to take a crack at it in the near future. Thanks for the tip on the manual - they sell them on Amazon, Gunbroker, and Ebay too! I'm going to get one myself :party29:

      Winchester Model 88 - Action/Cleaning

Yeah, and it is likely that this hasn't ever been cleaned. Every corner had additional buildup from the smokey environment before I took the pictures too, I imagine the same is happening within the action. I appreciate your comment, thanks!

      Winchester Model 88 - Action/Cleaning

I figured the value to be a little over half of that listing for insurance purposes, it is nowhere near as well-kept as it was one of my grandpa's hunting rifles years ago. Lots of sentimental value! :) Just curious, why would pre-64 be more valuable (mine is a late-65/early 66 best I can...

      Winchester Model 88 - Action/Cleaning

I inherited a Winchester Model 88 in .308. It was stored in the closet of a two-smoker home for a number of years, and the grime buildup on the scope glass was enough to reduce visibility by ~half when looking through it. I cleaned up the scope glass and exterior, bore, and...

      .22 LR Ammo

Amen! Luckily some Federal automatch bulk packs have been floating around, but that is what I'd consider the bare minimum for plinking .22. Feeding goldens through a semi-auto turns a nice day of shooting into "why even bother?" after the 5th failure to cycle/feed/eject in a 10-round magazine.

      Homemade PPK

Please tell your grandpa how much his work is appreciated. Truly fantastic work, thank you for sharing it with us!

      My neighbor's 2 inherited handguns

Oh wow, thanks. I had been using Wikiarms.com and it wasn't tracking nearly as much as ammoseek.

      My neighbor's 2 inherited handguns

A little off-topic, but sourcing .25acp ammo is a pain. Haven't seen any local in the last year around HoCo, and everything online comes out to ~$.50/rd after shipping. I inherited a similar Colt that I still haven't shot because of it. It's pretty though :)

      Appleseed Maryland 2015 Thread

Welcome to the forums, glad you joined up! No worries about the casings, I hit my father-in-law with more than a few too :) And yes that was me, thank you! I honestly didn't think I got it, the only reason I even scored the target was because one of the instructors told me to do so! That was...

      Ruger 10/22 50th Anniversary Model

The only issue with the 50th Anniversary Contest Winner Edition 10/22 is still those stock iron sights. They are incredibly hard to adjust for windage and elevation. I feel like the only advantage that rifle gives you specifically for Appleseed is the studs for sling swivels. The picatinny rail...
