This thread gives me a headache. When GCA 68 was passed, forbidding interstate sales of handguns between individuals, Maryland already had a waiting period/background check. Until 1995/97 (not sure which) private handgun sales between individuals were not restricted. After that date individuals...
I don't know anything about this pol except that he apparently saved our tails. What can you guys tell me about him? I haven't contributed a penny to any politician since Dan Bongino lost his Congressional race but I feel like I owe Zirkin. Am I missing anything?
CDNN has Mossberg 500 28" VR barrels with 3 chokes for $90 plus shipping. I bought one earlier this year. I can't speak for skeet or clays, but that's all you need to get started with trap. Most of the trap shooters I've rubbed elbows with are proud of their shotguns and generous about letting...
An original should be rust blued. About 20 years ago a large quantity were imported that had horrible bores and had been dipped blued. If buying the first thing to check is the condition of the barrel. These pistols should only be fired with 9mm Largo ammunition.
I went through this a couple of years ago. I'm in MD and wanted to sell a handgun to my friend in VA. I hand carried the pistol to Sharpshooters (formerly Gilbert Small Arms) in Lorton, they put it on their books, my friend paid me, and for me-transaction complete. I didn't think to ask what...
Check the mainspring strain screw, in front of the grip (and below where the pic posted by Lee is cut off). This screw tensions the mainspring and needs to be tight. If the screw is loose and backing out the revolver will also stop working SA.
I've been waiting for someone to make a crack about the ejection pattern. I have a 1935 ('50's commercial) and a 418 (.25 ACP). I need to wear a hat when I shoot these pistols because they both eject in an arc that hits me on top of my head.
The Mauser 1910/14/34 pistols have always fascinated me. The elaborate machining, complexity of design for a simple blowback. Very German. I wonder about the retail price if manufactured today.
