      On top of cell towers being down, what little towers that are working are being over flooded. Anyone know of an alternative to cell phones? Of keeping mind cost effectiveness.

      After the last big storm in this area, there were parts of Northern VA that were complete dead zones for cell phones. I live in Clarksburg and my cell phone service was not affected. Driving 30mins away will make a difference.

      I like the idea of having a goodie bag. Knife, 550 cord, duct tape, etc... Once you start leaving the affected area, communications will comes back up.
