In the days of dopey dreams—happy, peaceful Philippines,
When the bolomen were busy all night long.
When ladrones would steal and lie, and Americanos die,
Then you heard the soldiers sing this evening song:
Damn, damn, damn the insurrectos!
Cross-eyed kakiac ladrones!
Underneath the starry flag...
Without the shredder the bullets do stay intact for a while ... usually. Swedish trappers figured out that, if you were careful, the training ammo offered a really cheap way to dispatch a trapped fur animal at close range without doing much damage to the pelt.
CHINESE KEEP UP GUN EXPORTS TO U.S.
By Jay Mathews July 5, 1989
Two Chinese trading companies controlled by army leaders, including one headed by the son-in-law of Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping, are continuing to export weapons to U.S. gun shops while fighting the Bush administration ban on U.S...
In the early 1990s, China North Industries (NORINCO) exported a number of surplus and newly-made rifles to distributors in the U.S. Many of the dealers in the U.S. were family of powerful Chinese players. Keng was one of the better-known because he was a big political contributor and schmoozed...
Same sort of thinking. There was a tiny store (with sort of a bar in back) about a mile from my grandfather's house in Chas. Co. I didn't live in the area because dad was in the military, but the first time I went up there to buy ammo, I hunted my way through the woods, then walked in and told...
Just in general ... it's a good sign that .22 LR seems to be back in stock and available at fairly reasonable prices again. I just got in five Federal AutoMatch .22LR 40 Grain 325 packs for about $127 shipped from Bud's. That works out to about 8 cents a round delivered, I think. Yeah, it's...
No. No, it doesn't. Bakelite was a miracle material when it first came out because it not only could be moulded, and was cheap, it could be made in several different nifty bright colors (as well as brown). But that's where the attraction ends.
Bakelite is sensitive to heat and light...
No plans to buy, but I did look at their pre-sale hype. Sure enough, they seemed to accidentally not show the import mark. They've quit marketing to collectors, and they now seem satisfied with selling to suckers who buy into their hype.
"Overpaid" by only $100? Nah. You didn't. Don't even care what the final hammer price was. At worst, you bought it a couple of months early.
Another great addition to Mawkie's Magnificent Museum.
It's puzzling as to why it's not marked. I've got one like it (more of a parts gun), but mine's clearly marked. I haven't looked at mine in awhile, but I think the markings are on the top of the barrel. (Yeah ... those sights are on backwards.)
Those have gotten to be pretty pricey, as...
Send me a pm and I'll go through and see what I've got. I don't have an Albanian anymore, but I've got a couple of early Chinese SKSs that went through Albania before being imported to the U.S.
I may have some things you'd be interested in. Let's take this to PM, okay? I'm not looking for more than current market value except for guns that are in especially nice condition.
I should have been more specific, I guess. I've got some SKSs, but not Russian. Have one or two Sino-Albanians that I'll let go.
I've also got several Argentine Mausers. I need to go through them to see which duplicates I have.
