Just got back from the show “set-up”. Found a mint Bannerman Mosin sporter for a great price and a Swiss M1851 Feldstutzer.
Lots of neat stuff as usual. If you’re looking for a Trapdoor Springfield, Krag-Jorgensen or a double barreled shotgun, you’re going to be happy. There’s hundreds of each...
I’ll be there later this afternoon during set up.
Best part about being in the club is that you get to get in during set up hours before the show starts!
Yes, you can bring in C&R long guns or Antique Firearms to sell. Like pre64 said, just make sure they are unloaded before you bring them in. They will have gun checkers at the door.
Just make sure you don’t try to wheel in an entire cart full of firearms to walk around with like some weirdo guy...
The attendance requirement has been “shelved” essentially. It’s not really being enforced right now other than the first year of membership.
I’ve had some good luck getting new members, but I’ve been surprised by the lack of interest the membership here (on MDShooters) has to joining the club...
Post World War Two weapons (not handguns…until next year) are allowed at the show.
It’s not explicitly stated, but basically anything pre-Vietnam is allowed.
The show is geared for mostly antique and C&R firearms. The pre-Vietnam timeline is used so people don’t start showing up with AR’s...
Awesome pistol! The finish doesn’t look too bad! I can’t imagine bubba would park something like that, I’d imagine an older bubba would nickel plate it or high polish blue it.
I handled one at the S&W booth at the Great American Outdoor Show.
Seemed like a nice rifle, but I won’t be buying one at that price point.
I’ll stick with my older Marlins, or I’ll buy a new Ruger Marlin in .45-70. Neither of them can can’t be beat.
Snagged this on Gunbroker about 5 months ago or so.
After World War One the Allies and the Treaty of Versailles forced the German’s to destroy much of their armaments.
There were a lot of excess Gewehr 98 rifles left over, so instead of turning them into scrap, many of them were bought up by...
I’ve got one and the dies to load for it. I haven’t actually loaded any ammo for it yet, but I have shot it.
Neat revolver with a long history. A bit awkward to shoot with the enlisted man version without the trigger guard.
Not my favorite military revolver by any means, but I bought it for...
The Maryland Arms Collector’s Baltimore “Antique” Arms show is back again. For those that have never attended before, the show is usually massive and size is comparable to one of the Nation’s shows in Dulles.
It’s at the State Fairgrounds in Timonium in the Cow Palace.
March 16th and 17th...
Selling my Springfield M1903 Mark I
Has its original 12-18 barrel. High number receiver (they all were). Correct Mark I stock. Neat rifles made for the Pedersen Device towards the end of WWI.
Everything is in great shape and the rifle shoots just as good as it looks. I don’t remember what the...
Shot a doe this evening. A couple decent bucks came out, but I let them go, if they lasted this long, they deserve to live until next season. I let myself get too picky and waited a little too late in the season.
First time taking my new (to me) Remington 700 in 6mm Remington that I picked up...
Sounds like one of the early Czech Vz.98/22 rifles.
If I remember correctly, the first 10,000 to 20,000 or so had the Lange Vizier rear sight. After that the Czechs either ran out of German parts or just switched to the tangent sight.
I believe the Czechs sold virtually all of the 98/22’s to...
