      Sorry to derail, but my question is related. Do they go to visit doctors and others when doing the background check or is it online databases? I just do not get why it takes 7 days at a minimum. Anyone?

      I would not be surprised if they do them in five minutes and then just sit on them. unless they walk to where the database offices are, it does not take long to see if someone witha clean record is clean.

      +1. I do not mind the waiting period, but they need to be efficient. A child in grammar school could search 16 databases in 10 minutes given the right software. It is ridiculous to go past the seven days, unless they just let them sit and only devote a few hours a week to their responsibility.

      i wonder why they know how to use computers in WV, but the so called intelligent people of MD do not. I tell you, I have thrown away almost 13 years living in MD and I am hoping 13 is my lucky number to leave this fine liberal state.

      out of curiousity, who out there has had an ffl that is efficient? Let's say no more than 9 days of a 7 day waiting period... That is interesting math BTW, isn't it? "if john gives you 9 cookies, and he only had 7 how many will he have left?" LOL I say that to say that I cringed and laughed...
