      Who's getting in some fishing?

Had hoped to do a little smallmouth fishing on the upper potomac today but the 25mph+ winds made that a pita. The channel cats are biting good though

RSP vs Haffers for Powder and Primer prices

Call rsp and ask what they have on the shelf before heading out there it varies week to week. Hafers is priced higher than rsp for powder and primer in my experience.

      Who's getting in some fishing?

Didn't have much luck today water temp has dropped back to 48 the upper potomac is muddy and cold with a lot of debris still floating around. We managed a little 12" walleye trolling a shad rap and that was it. Will try again this weekend hopefully the Warmer Temps this week will wake em up.

      Who's getting in some fishing?

Yeah we ventured out on the four locks stretch a few weeks ago when the Hancock gauge was a little over 10 feet that's as high as I'll go and still launch the boat. 7 feet sounds like good conditions for catfishing to me this time of year especially around the dams. The flatheads that are...

      Who's getting in some fishing?

I was suppose to be fishing raystown this weekend but they closed all the ramps untill further notice due to high water. Upper potomac looks to be too high for my liking until around Monday at the best. Might try greenbrier just to wet a line and get out on the boat for a bit this weekend.

      Outdoor ranges near Keyser

Peacemaker is closer to you and 10x nicer than 340 defense. There is a shotgun range in sleepy creek wma in Morgan County but it was on fire last night because some ******* was using incendiary rounds might be a bit before that re opens

      Who's getting in some fishing?

Mostly upriver ..no hair jigs I didn't have any heavy enough even in the Eddie's behind the cliffs. Mostly threw a 1/2oz jig with rage craw and a pointer 100 all day. The area closer to dam had enough floating debris it looked like you could walk across. The river really needs another couple...

      Who's getting in some fishing?

We hit the four locks stretch of the upper potomac today. It's still up quite a bit and flowing strong. Lots of debris in the water. We didn't manage to boat a single fish ( I lost a dink smallmouth on a jerkbait at the boat) was very nice to be out though and dust some cobwebs off the gear.

Favorite braided line for spinning reels

Suffix 832 is my favorite. I have a couple freshwater trolling setups with tuff line metered braid for walleye.

      Fishing

Cold front coming will slow it down some but I plan on spending a couple days next week on the upper potomac bass fishing.

      Who's getting in some fishing?

I have a minn kota digital to charge the starting batteries and I picked up a 36v golf cart charger for the lifepo4 but it doesn't stay onboard. Hard to find a true onboard charger for 36v

      Who's getting in some fishing?

If going lifep04 all you need is a single 36v 55ah or 60ah battery. Same size as a group 31. I've run it all day on the river and still had 65% capacity at the end of the day.

      Who's getting in some fishing?

Go 36v the garmin is capable of either but 36v actually is the most efficient. Price difference between 24v and 36v battery isn't much. My boats a lot like your polar kraft I have a 20ft xpress center console @ 36v it will push me 4.5mph . I no longer use the outboard to troll even upriver.

      Who's getting in some fishing?

I bought it from Amazon . Only thing local I could find was x2 lifepo4 and the 36v 60ah was well over $1k. I spent less than $400 and found tons of positive reviews and even a video on YouTube taking several brand of batteries apart before taking the plunge. Li time and time usb seem to be the...

      Who's getting in some fishing?

Love it.. I got a Li time 36v 55ah to run my garmin force. Got it last fall so only a couple trips on it but (1) 33lb battery is doing what (3) 68lb batteries did. Wish I could use one for a starting battery to save more weight but Yamaha says not to with my outboard.

      Who's getting in some fishing?

Drug the boat out the garage yesterday and got it cleaned up and ready. Spent a couple hours wiring in a 2nd house battery and a 36v lifepo4 for the trolling motor. Paying for it today not much room In the center console for working lead to contorting into some odd positions to get it done...

I'm thinking of taking the boat out Sunday. Probably hit the upper potomac looking for smallmouth.

      Thermal and preparedness.

Zeiss has some new thermals out that look interesting. Given the companies quality level on the rest of their optics lineup I'd bet the company's thermal line up is held to the same standard. They also give a nice discount to military/Leo. One of these days I'm going to take a ride up to...
