      .17 HMR ammo recommendations

That's what I use in my CZ 455 American. It shoots great. Close Second is the Hornaday 17 grain V-Max.

Buying a rpr need help with scopes.

I think the PST Gen II is the way to go for the value. I like that it's offered in FFP as well but it might be more pricey in that configuration. The only other thing I can think of is if you can find a sale on a Burris XTR-II.

      Hendershot's youtube

I've bought several rifles from Lance. He's always been more than fair to me and a pleasant guy to converse with. He's helped me out with consignment sales and transfers too. No complaints here.

What did you do at your reloading bench today?

Put together 20 rounds of .22-250 for my old Wby. Varmintmaster. Light to medium strength - 50 grain Nosler BT on 34.5 grains of Varget.

The little Creedmore is tightening up!

I run the 123 grain SST in my 6.5 X 47L and it shoots lights out, but I've got 4" more bore in that rifle, so maybe that's the difference? The 130 Accubond is also a good performer in my 6.5-284. I'm stocking up on them when they become available, that's for sure!

The little Creedmore is tightening up!

Had a good range session today with my new Wby. Mark V (Altitude) in 6.5 crdm. I had been trying to develop a load with Hornady 123 grain SST's but after 3 charge ladders (5 shot groups) and 60 rounds, could not seem to get it under 1.5 MOA. I decided to stick with RL-15, but switched over to...

      Vortex Scopes

I have several Vortex scopes and had a Diamondback with a BDC in 4 X 12. It was a good scope. This was purchased about 7 years back so they have probably corrected the issue, but I remember the turret clicks being a bit "mushy" and non-distinct. At any rate, it held a solid "0" on a sporter...

Looking for recs/experience with these 2 .22lr -Savage vs CZ

Agree. The build quality on a CZ 427 is well above the price point in my opinion (I have a Scout for my son and .17/22LR "American" myself). Do yourself a favor and check out the "Yo Dave" aftermarket trigger groups as well. You won't be disapointed.

      Finally decided

I put a Tango 4 on my 6.5-284 Norma (custom Savage). Nice Scope. My only complaint is that the zero stop is a bit awkward to set and the paralax adjustment is a bit stiff. I usually leave the elevation turret at the 1/4 minute mark in the field before I dope up for shots because it's...

What did you do at your reloading bench today?

I decided to finally go "heavy" with my 6.5 X 47L and loaded up a ladder of 143 grain ELD-X bullets. I usually shoot the 123 SST and they fly well but with BC's in the 6's, I'm banking on these to shoot really well. Used Varget instead of RL-15 this time just because....

Sig Sauer Rifle Brass? Any Good?

Thanks Uncle Duke. I'm purposely seating out of the cannelure, but now that I think of it, I know what you mean. I followed the RCBS instructions to back the seating die out a full turn. With other VLD's and Redding dies, I have not run into this problem with my other 6.5's. I'm still wondering...

Sig Sauer Rifle Brass? Any Good?

Hey all, Working up a load for my new 6.5 Creedmoore (Wby. Altitude) and it seems that I bulged the shoulders out without even realizing it until I tried to chamber the rounds at the range. I figured I'd skip the Redding Type S bushing dies for this rifle, as it's a close quarters, thick...

No H4350 on hand...what's the best alternative?

Thanks. Yup it was 100 yards. If it holds under a minute at 200, I'll be happy. It's my "close quarters" gun in the thick woods, so I'm not too worried if it does not perform like my crop damage rigs across the soy bean fields!

No H4350 on hand...what's the best alternative?

Thanks all for the replies. All things considered, I think I'll check one more local source for H4350 or RL-17 and if no luck, I'll work up my first charge ladder with Varget. I'll reserve my RL-15 for it's regular duty in my 6.5 x 47L. The rifle eeked out .66 MOA with some Sig Sauer factory...

No H4350 on hand...what's the best alternative?

Whiffy scored me this Mark V Altitude (6.5 CRDM) for Christmas, as I had been wanting a lightweight rifle. I don't have any H4350 but got some Varget, RL-15 and IMR 4350. The rifle has a 22" bbl., and I'm going to use a 123 grain SST in favor of the heavier 140 class pills for swamp donkeys...

Light Rifles (Christensen Arms Mesa vs. Ridgeline)

Hi all, OK, light rifles are a new concept to me, so I need some help. I handled a CA Mesa today and was comparing it to a Kimber Mountain Ascent, which was lighter but it seemed to me that the build quality of the later was not up to snuff with the CA Mesa (surprisingly this was indirectly...

Sighting in my Remington 700 ADL 30-06

I've used primarily IMR 4064 in my .06 but also had a nice pet load out of my 700 BDL with 55.5 grains of Varget and a 125 grain Nosler BT. I'm glad you are pleased with your results. I think the .06 is a relatively forgiving cartridge to load for, just a bit of a thumper for me.

      Moving to Frederick Area

I've lived in Mount Airy since 1999 and I am very satisfied, primarily because I belong to the local IWLA and can be to the range in 7 minutes!

Tikka T3X Tac A1 or Christensen Arms MPR?

I appreciate this information very much and although some of it is not applicable to my shooting situation(s), it is interesting and thought provoking nonetheless. I don't shoot PRS matches - don't expect that I ever will but I like to hear the opinions of guys that do. I really like the Tikka...

Tikka T3X Tac A1 or Christensen Arms MPR?

Given the choice, which one would you go for? I know, not entirely an apples to apples comparison (other than the fact they are both chassis rifles) but just curious if anyone has had experience with either one of them and has any thoughts? This would be in 6.5 CRDM w/ 24" tube. I'd use it for...
