These boxes are right-sized for shipping most cased shotguns. I had to buy a bundle of fifteen so I'm looking to pass some of them along at my cost...
I would be interested in the names of the FB groups since I find pompous ajoles kind of amusing. Also "champion" sporting clays shooters seem to be plentiful since I meet another one every year or two.
I remember them, have seen a lot sitting in used-gun racks over the years. My first .22 was bolt action Mossberg, they made 'em better back then, that's for sure.
"Where did you get it? I'm looking for a 20 gauge SxS since my old Stevens doesn't like modern shells."
I looked for this particular gun/gauge/barrel length for a full year, until Pacific Sporting Arms finally got five of them in stock. I think all five sold in a couple weeks, but you might...
The Dickinson Plantation Sporter. It's high vent rib, sporting stock, beavertail forend and 32" barrels make it a great choice for clay shooters who prefer their barrels situated horizontally. This example is a 20ga, which swings smoothly and delivers little recoil thanks to its 7.5lb weight.
The initial version of the Beretta Onyx Pro Sporting started with the popular matte black receiver of the 80's Onyx and added sporting barrels and an Xtra grain sporting stock. Subsequent versions were a little cheaper and IMHO, less attractive. This example is in 20ga with 30" barrels, a...
For me 28" in the field, 30" for skeet and 32" for sporting clays (though I'm warming up to 32" for skeet).
First a disclaimer, you concentrate on the target and only see your barrel in the periphery, you don't aim a shot gun.
That said, the extra 2" on the shooter's end translates into feet...
I just sold this shotgun (reason for the photos), I just don't shoot 12 gauge anymore. That said, I have the same gun in a 28ga/.410/30" combo and it is a favorite. Shotguns made by AKUS (SKB & Dickinson) offer next-gen Turkish quality at reasonable price.
Caesar Guerini Tempio Light - 20ga/28" - 5lb-9oz
I found it a little too light to shoot well and a little too nice for the kind of bird hunting I do. Still, it does pain me to see it go.
All pads are new, those in clamshell come with screws. SC = Sporting Clays ($35), OE = Old English ($25)
