I'm just starting out on the black powder path, recently acquiring a Hawken .50 cal percussion cap rifle.
But I've long dreamed of going a little more old school and getting a Pennsylvania Long Rifle flintlock.
I see that Pedersoli has a nice selection...
I love mine; it was tough to find, though. Got mine from Gun Connection in White Marsh, after I posted around a number of MD Shooters member merchants.
Still, you all gave some great advice and detail regarding how to really clean this bad boy, so I'll break it down tomorrow and clean the cosmoline snot out of it once and for all!

Looks like nail polish remover has solved my crappy ammo dilemma.
I scrubbed down a couple of boxes of this stuff with nail polish remover Friday night before heading to the range Saturday morning, and I got a good bit of something messy off of each round. I made it through a whole box with...
I'm not sure, but I stopped at CVS and picked up some nail polish remover and will work over a few boxes tonight and go shooting in the morning. I'll provide an update, either way.
