As of this past Saturday, I was able to get the SIG. I am looking forward to finally trying it out next week when I have more time to go to the range.

Exactly; I had to produce my DL when I picked up my gun in the fist place. BTW, you do not have to even mention that you "own" a gun to get the lock; just prove that you live in Baltimore County. Hopefully they record all the information just to make sure you do not get more than your allowed.
Why all the anger? I pay my taxes, paid the fees for the gun and now they want to give me "free" locks to make they them feel good. Who cares? BTW, I picked up one this morning and it took less than 5 minutes. The way I see it, is that I got some crappy $5 lock after paying all the Maryland...
