      the edc WATCH thread

Well, here are 2 of my early Christmas presents - one from me to me and the other from my significant other. From me to me is a Seiko Kinetic GMT. I love 4-hand watches and this is clearly Seiko's homage to the Rolex Explorer with its white face, fixed 24-hour bezel, and orange pointer hand...

      High end pump for skeet

Well, both of the guns are Italian so they needed Italian names. Marcello means "like a hammer" but also has an elegance to it that fits the Caesar Guerini. And Vittorio means "Conqueror" and, no kidding, the Velocity is a serious claysmasher. Destroys clays with 12 gauge fury (we're talking...

Here's my two babies. This is the Caesar Guerini. The top is one from their web page. Mine is in my hands in other pic. His name is Marcello. This is the FABARM XLR5 Velocity. This one's a real clay smasher! His name is Vittorio.

Prince georges trap and skeet question

One of the most fun sporting clays experiences I've had was at Delmarva. We had a trapper AND they have mechanical, spring loaded traps. He would secretly send out a pair (standard & mini) or send an orange and black bird and call which one to shoot first. Incredible fun and my favorite...

      High end pump for skeet

I shoot a fair bit of clays and don't think I've ever met any of the "dressage people" you mention, but I'm sure they're out there. People "with means" can afford the best. I'm not going to hold that against them. It's more important to me that they're supporting the sport so people without a...

      High end pump for skeet

Nope. Peels right off. It's squishy...sorta like a gummy bear! Actually, this is a cool accessory to raise your cheek up a little bit. http://www.berettausa.com/en-us/beretta-gel-tek-cheek-protector-12-inches/e00378/

      Shotgun fitting

I'm pretty sure they'd help you fit any gun. My concern might be that the work you would like done could very well cost more than the gun is worth. Just a consideration. But it may turn out that you don't need that much done to make it fit you. Never hurts to get a professional evaluation.

      High end pump for skeet

Here's my idea of high end. Kolar Max Skeet. 12 gauge barrel set; 12 gauge carrier barrels; 20 gauge, 28 gauge, and .410 bore barrel tube sets; fitted Americase. Made in Racine, Wisconsin. With this engraving and wood....about $25k. Gonna own one some day. It'll be my last gun.

      High end pump for skeet

 I have the BPS 28 gauge Hunter. I needed a little extra LOP so I had a thicker Kick-Eez butt pad put on it. Beretta makes a really nice gel cheek pad that also raises the comb height a bit. Fun gun to shoot. Quick and swings nice. Smooth as silk and I've run a fair number of 25...

      High end pump for skeet

I understand what you're saying, but a guy showed me a trick for the BPS. When you're on the line waiting your turn, hold the BPS upside down with the action open. Use your thumb to slightly push the pump a little forward until the "forks" drop inside the chamber. When it's your turn drop a...

      Shotgun fitting

Like anywhere, there's no such thing as perfect conditions. My dealings have always been with either the Bart brothers, their manager Al, or the gunsmith Tom. There are, however, a few employees in there that I don't like at all. They're frankly jerks and are on the non-shotgun side of the store.

I have a BPS in 28 gauge that I love to use to shoot skeet. Fun gun and beautifully made.

      Shotgun fitting

From what I was told, Jack Bart was essentially CG's first customer - at least in MD. Jack took a big chance and bought several guns out of the trunk of Wes Lang's car when he was starting out. And, yes, the CG and FABARM guns that Jack sells in his shop are all hand-picked. One of Jack's...
