      DNR would like you to take blue catfish

      Try bleeding them out. Make one cut ahead of the tail, and another cut in the gill rakers. Put the fish on a stringer and let it bleed out for 30 minutes or so before icing down. The resulting meat will be flaky white instead of tainted with red. Bleeding also works for Spanish mackerel and blues.

      Multiple safes are good to accommodate a collection as it grows and possibly recedes. Smaller safes can be sold off as well as parts of a collection.

      Just fillet them, and slice the skin off just like you would do a rockfish. No need for the nailing the fish to a board and pulling the skin off with pliers nonsense.
