My Ruger SR-22 has been pretty well perfect. I think it might have had a misfire at some point, but generally eats most any crap ammo I feed it. It is also very easy to clean, unlike some of the other suggestions here.
I will say that it is a fun little gun, but it is also no target pistol...
I agree - it is where the future is headed. I think it is a cool design - few moving parts, very little maintenance, modular barrels that can be changed out in a minute with no tools, switchable ejection, etc.
I will probably own one at some point. They are just a bit spendy still.
I like my AKs a lot and appreciate the effort it took to put this together - but I just cannot see that kind of money going into a 9mm blowback carbine. The price point is just way out there.
Think about some of the other stuff you could buy with that much cash. Then think about the fact...
As somebody who works in DC - you have to be super-paranoid about everything remotely firearms related.
My nightmare is somehow not remembering to bring my UNLOADED shotgun in from the locked truck of my car after going shooting and then driving into DC the next day. I would normally never...
Taurus seems to have very uneven quality control. So some people will report no problems at all with theirs, others will say they are all junk. YMMV. You get a good one, you saved some $$$, you get a bad one, you are going to wish you spent the extra money just to avoid the hassle of...
Apparently my search skills stink. I seem to remember a thread somewhere on here about one of the IPs offering an all-in-one deal on the HQL, including taking care of the fingerprint requirements. Somebody will walk you through all the forms you need and get the application completed and off...
I picked up a High Standard pump a while back. There is a website run by a fellow who knows a lot about them and even has the factory records if you give him a serial number.
http://www.histandard.info
You may want to start there.
My sense from doing some web research is that the pump guns...
Thanks guys! Appreciate it. I will go buy a couple different brands of slugs and see what patterns best out of the gun. I know I am going to be deforming all of them at least a little bit, so I imagine some of them are going to fly much truer than others. We'll just see how it goes and...
I have that very scope you are looking at. Mine is on a Marlin 60. I can reach out well over 100 yards with it all day long and even with my lousy eyes I can see what I am aiming at clearly. It is seems reasonably solid and has held up fine for me. Like you, I wasn't going to spend a lot of...
I picked up an older, High-Standard, 12 ga pump. Made in 1971, with a fixed, modified choke, 28" smoothbore barrel.
Gun seems to be pretty sound and in good shape, probably not a high round count as best as I can tell.
I am thinking I might want to run some slugs through it. Nothing...
I have two XDm pistols. One in 3.8 and one in 5.25. I don't believe I have had a single hang up with either gun - they are super reliable and very easy to clean. I didn't like the grip angle of the Glock as much so I went with the XDm. Springfield grips are more like the 1911 profile.
If...
If you have an EBR - there is only one kind of tactical tape. Anything else will give away your position to zombies.
I recommend it for attaching your tactical light too:
Stay safe!!
I live in MoCo and order ammo on-line all the time. I've bought from Midway, Bass Pro, Cabelas, SGAmmo, etc. and never had any issue. Always look at the sales policies before you buy on the web, particularly if it isn't a company you've bought from before. Some of these little companies don't...
FWIW I have a Hi-Point in 9mm. It is a fun little shooter out to about 50 yards. You can go out to maybe 75 with it but it is starting to get sketchy. Beyond 75 it starts to become more trouble than it is worth. It really runs out of gas. I suppose I could put an optic on it and dial in a...
