Yeah, I am not seeing the fiscal stuff materialize yet. It seems to me, a lot of the fiscal problems are local zoning issues.

I a currently dealing with Baltimore County to get a zoning variance for a business that will immediately employ 9 people.

I will never understand how the ABC board works in this state. I can't believe you can't buy beer and wine at a grocery store.

These are just a few examples of the anti business policies in MD that The Gov has not addressed. He lowered some tolls. Got it, good job. Now what?

"ABC Board" is not state run like other states, but a county operation, and you can buy beer and wine in grocery stores here in PG County.

Exactly ... the MD liquor laws are about 1", maybe a little less ... the laws from the individual counties are another 20" or so. Don't blame the state for what the county is doing.

Yeah, I am not. I agree the counties are the source of the anti - businesses climate in MD.

I just wish The Gov would publicly address this.

A wrestling match with 24 opponents ... not likely

I am sure this has been addressed but for the record have any of our 2A advocates attempted to reach out to the Governor (not his handlers, advisors, underlings ETC) for a face to face to discuss his stance and if so what was the response/outcome? MSI? NRA? Associated Gun Clubs? Anyone? He could relieve a lot of tension in the community simply by telling us he's pro 2A and pro carry and will work with us in his 2nd term...

Yes, dblas addressed that earlier in this thread, I believe.

MSI has tried, but so far only staff meetings, no gov.

Is he avoiding us and the issue, or are his handlers running interference without his knowledge?

Seemingly not known at this time.

I believe he is covering his butt. He does not want to be caught off guard again being quoted in the WAPO.

I'm sure he is avoiding "us" like the plague.

    Either option is plausible.

He don't give a good goddamn about us or our vote.

    2A in Maryland:

Not relevant for pandering to DC suburbs and thus not relevant for Hogan. He will need to improve his numbers among the central Maryland elites to win re-election and that means not stepping all over their pet issues. Offsetting a shift of the population centers' vote in the case of a viable Democratic candidate just isn't possible by relying on the other counties.

Instead of asking is it day one yet, we need to be asking is it year four of a second term yet? :sad20: Even then I think nothing will happen because the party bosses would fear blunting his Republican heir's chance of election. If a Republican wins a second term you can guarantee his chosen successor will place much pressure on him to not rock the boat too hard. Who wins that contest? A bunch of mostly anonymous people on an internet forum and some associated organizations or a few well connected Republican insiders with much to gain by keeping a second term governor in check for the chance of an historic three terms of Republican governorship of a blue state?

    Don't hold your breath.
