i would like to challenge all wear/carry permit holders here to an IDPA match coming up on the following dates: tuesday, nov 17, saturday, nov 28 or saturday, december 19th.

here's the deal, i will pay your entry fee to participate in the match, if you pay for an annual MSI membership. that easy.

matches are held at Thurmont Conservation Center. For more info, please feel free to ask.

if you are curious as to why i have challenged all WEAR/CARRY PERMIT persons, they have a voice too, and i am sure many are fed up with the whole process and expense.

PM's always welcome. :smoke: <<~~~we need to replace this icon with a vaping person. ha ha ha.

Details for Thurmont Conservation & Sportsman's Club (TCSC) IDPA matches can be found at: http://tcandsc.org/disciplines/idpa/54-idpa-matches

Critical information from that website is here (visit the website for the 2015 schedule):

    2015 IDPA Matches Information

International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) shooting as a sport is quite simply the use of practical equipment including full charge service ammunition to solve simulated "real world" self-defense scenarios. Shooters competing in Defensive Pistol events are required to use practical handguns (typical production revolvers or semi-auto pistols - .38Sp/9mm or larger) and holsters that are truly suitable for self-defense use. No "competition only" equipment is permitted in Defensive Pistol matches since the main goal is to test the skill and ability of an individual, not his or her equipment or gamesmanship.

    New Shooters

Please email ThurmontIDPA@verizon.net with your shooting resume. Include pistol shooting experience, classes taken, work experience, qualifiers passed, and other similar experience. We will notify you via email with our assessment. New shooters fall into two categories: Qualified and Unqualified. The IDPA Committee Chairman will make an initial determination if you are Qualified to shoot. Qualified new shooters need only take the Qualified Shooter Orientation on the same day as the match one hour before the match. You are qualified if you have taken any of the following: AAFG New Shooter Class, Peacemaker Competition Handgun Class, or Other tactical competition handgun class. You may also qualify if you have sufficient experience with Law Enforcement and/or Military and/or contractor experience.

Those who are not Qualified will need to take the Thurmont Skills Class or one of the classes listed above. The Committtee will consider all requests for Qualification status.

This year the New Shooter Skills Class will be taught April 11, June 05, and October 23, subject to demand and trainer availability. For more information email ThurmontIDPA@verizon.net.

Information about the New Shooter Skills Class can be found in the PDF document here. (http://tcandsc.org/FilesFromOther/IDPASkillsBrochure2015POtt$50.docx.pdf)

    Advanced Registration Required

Advance registration is required for all IDPA matches. No walk-on registrations are allowed without prior-approval by the Match Director. This is needed to assist in match planning. Advance registration starts 1-3 weeks before the match and continues until the match is filled.

    Registration:

Register at https://clubs.practiscore.com/. Search for the date of the match in the match listings.

You will receive an email confirming that your are registered and then asking you to squad. If you register and then find you cannot attend the match, please advise by withdrawing using the practiscore management link so that your slot may be given to another shooter.

Contact Cody Claxton (ThurmontIDPA@verizon.net) for further information.
