    Definitely not where you are!
Since May 1st is shortly approaching, and since I had acquired a new machinegun on April 7th, I decided to do the online registration a few weeks early. My registration was submitted April 7th along with my new-toy entry and the subsequent $10, which showed up on my CC statement a couple days later. To this day, the application/license is still "Pending". You would think with the new online registration tool it would be very quick... I know dumb of me to assume that.

Anyway, has anyone else encountered this perpetual pending status on eMDSP?

Yes same thing here. My guess is that the annual and initial registration are now the same form. So if you get a MG during the year, its like turning in the annual registration early. What will be interesting is if you get two in the same year at different times... will the system be able to handle that.

OK so, where do we go for the annual MG registration anyway?

I got my last MG just before they announced you needed to use the on-line registration so my last entry was via snail mail.

    Thanks,

    Dave

As I understood it, from the instructions MSP released, you would re-register all machineguns for this year as "Initial registration" and then "annual registration" next year and in the future.

OK cool, thanks. But, do you happen to have the web address/URL to go to in order to do that? :D

Never mind I found it. Google is your friend!

Looks like I am already registered. Apparently if you have an HQL you are registered with the system.

I will get my two babies registered in there shortly.

    Thanks,

    Dave

I understand that machineguns newly registered (by paper application) this year won't have to be "re-registered" until next May, is that correct?

That is correct but you still have to do the initial MG registration. Two different things.

I see, so if you did a "paper initial registration" say in Feb 2015, you would then be required to do an "on line initial registration" in May of 2015?

    Update:

I just got off the phone with Mona (Machineguns, firearms branch and a very pleasant/helpful lady I might add) and she verified my paper registration and said that I am GTG until May 2016 or until I receive another MG (which may be with-in the next 30 days ironicaly) at which point I can make/renew my initial application online.

In other words, the paper registration I did back in the beginning of Feb 2015 will be valid and all that is necessary for that MG until May 2016 but of course the pending (new) MG will have to be done on-line at the time I receive it.

You got it straight. Glad she gave you good info.

Did mine today. Printed out the receipt. Done for another year.

A "pending" status on your account is for internal purposes only and does not define the status of your registration.

So, I have two machineguns to register. Do I pay the fee twice, once for each gun, or just once for the application itself?

Just submitted mine for the first time...It didn't like the first credit card I used. I kept clicking submit payment and the page kept refreshing. Good thing I have a spare.

Hopefully it doesn't charge me a bunch of times...but if it does, it would be nice if I didn't have to register and pay for a couple years lol.

Mine went from Pending to Active today, expiring on 5/31/2016.

Alright, here is the issue for me...

I received a new MG in April. So I submitted a form in April. However I put all my MGs on it, not just the new one. So now the system has me as active and not expiring until next year. So its treating the initial as the yearly.

Do I have to resubmit another? Or did I get lucky and have it count for both? Without separate forms... I don't know what else to do?

Update on mine. It is now listed as Active. Says I submitted 5/5/15 and is Active (I guess that means approved) and Expires 5/31/16. :D
