My father has one, 100% reliable very good gun. If it wasn't for this HQL business I would get a lite model.

I have one and love it. My only "complaint" is I bought it before they made a threaded barrel version. I wish it was threaded.

Take a look at the Mk III 22/45's with threaded barrels. There is a model with fixed sights and another with a picatinny rail. Weighs about 10 oz more than the Lite model, but it is still very manageable and feels much sturdier. Looks great with a silencerco sparrow on it as well.

I have one that I've put almost 3k rounds down range in the last year and a half with no problems but it is not the easiest pistol to clean IMHO.

Lite model with threaded barrel is the way to go.

Make sure you clean it before taking it shooting the first time.

If you only wanted one plinking/hunting .22LR; I'd go with the SMITH & WESSON MODEL 617 REVOLVER.

I have a lite model, first time out I had some trouble. Took it home, cleaned it (its a b*tch to put back together) and have since had no trouble. One of my favorites to take to the range.

I have a very early model. Great firearm. Thousands of rounds though it. Once you take them apart, they are easy to get back together. Well, maybe not easy, but doable.

BTW, the more you take them apart, the easier they go back together.

    You can do it...

    Uuuhhhh.

A current 22/45 IS a Mk III, but with a different grip frame.

And if you don't have a threaded one, you can have a gunsmith (John at Duffy's has just finished mine) thread it. I had it cut back 1/2 inch, threaded and sight replaced.

After paying the stupidly low price that Lou had for it, I am still ahead of the game on money spent.

MK III 22/45 threaded with a Burris Fast Fire III and Spectre II is a nice combo. Ask me how I know.
Don't forget the mag release kit....

+1 on John. He has done a few barrels for me.

Yeah I have the model with the Picatinny rails. It is nice, especially with a 22Sparrow on the front. Am seriously considering the Lite version that is brushed aluminum look with the holes and threaded barrel.
