So I have always wanted an SPR. I love the concept of it; a 5.56 precision rifle that bridges the gap between a dedicated long range precision rifle and a carbine. I planned on making a MK12 Mod 1 clone. But before I jumped the gun on a MK12 Mod 1, I looked around at other SPR builds and decided to build one the exact way I want it. So I have finally finished my SPR build and I couldn't be happier. I got amazing deals on just about every part and have about 2k into it. Now I'm just trying to decide on a suppressor for it. This is my first complete build btw.

    Upper:
    - Vltor MUR-1
    - Noveske 18" SPR barrel
    - KAC URX 3.1 13.5"
    - American Defense QD Bipod Mount
    - Harris 6-9 Bipod
    - Spike's Tactical M16 BCG (Going to get a BCM soon)
    - PRI Gasbuster Charging Handle
    - Larue LT104 SPR mount
    - Vortex PST 2.5-10x33 FFP

    Lower:
    - Seekins SBA15
    - Geissele SSA-E trigger group
    - V7 Weapon Systems 57 Degree Safety Selector
    - BCM Gunfighter Grip Mod 0
    - Battle Arms Development Enhanced Takedown Pins (Make a world of difference if you have trouble with regular pins)
    - Odin Works XMR Extended Magazine Release
    - Springco Buffer Spring
    - Magpul MOE Rifle Stock

First time I took it to the range to sight in, I was blown away by its accuracy. I was using just standard American Eagle 55 grain Tactical and was getting consistent sub-MOA groups at 100 yards. I didn't have time to get it perfectly dialed in. I can't wait till I get my hands on some Black Hills 77 grain ammo.

Sorry for the crappy cellphone pics

Man I like that. I was thinking of doing something similar. Defently gives me ideas for my next build. The best part is seeing what that Noveske barrel will do. I'm totally sold on obe of those.

Great looking rifle! I'm working on my SPR build as we speak too. I'm gonna use the mega arms SPR barrel though. See how it runs. I have a couple noveske barrels already and wanna try something else. I'll post pics when it's done. Should be in the next couple months.

    Great build and great shooting!

How long did it take you to get and put everything together?

    --Crudmucosa

Putting an AR together will take 1.5-2 hours at most, if you know what you are doing. Some of us have been known to put a lower together in less than 30 minutes. I assembled the wifey's lower in front of my dad and it took me 25 minutes. He was surprised it could be done so quickly. An upper should take no more than 1 hour to assemble.

Yeah, took me about an hour and half total

I went with the same scope and trigger and really like them both. What was your impression of the scope?

Quality barrel, trigger, optic and mount... pretty much sums it up.

There isn't anything wrong with a Spike's BCG; forget the BCM and spend it on ammo instead.

Sweet rifle!! I made my SPR from an Armalight AR-10A4BF. After I put it all together, it looked a lot like the Super SASS. I had a lot of fun modifying and glad I did. Pie plates at 400yds.... no problem!!
